Start of concerts (Minor spoiler within)

As I was driving to work, Doctor Doctor by UFO came on shuffle. I don't know about you lot but I love it when this comes on the PA at Iron Maiden gigs and people get really pumped up. It is great seeing the young fans in the audience not knowing the symbolism of this song at concerts and seeing the more experienced Maiden gig-goers singing along and cheering.

Do you guys equally love this moment? Obviously not as great as the opening song.

IMHO, one of the greatest moments in all of hard rock/heavy metal live experiences. Can anyone else name a band that features a song (that everyone knows) that signals that there are only a few more minutes remaining until the house lights go down for the intro? Not to mention that "Doctor, Doctor" is a damn fin tune.

Not sure if you were being rhetorical there but oh well, Metallica tends to get the crowd going with ACDC fairly well but Doctor Doctor definitely gets a better response lol

Does anyone know when the boys first used DD on the PA? First time I can recall it was on the Maiden England History tour? But may have use it on AMOLAD?

It was the actual intro on the number of the beast tour, and the actual intro on the GMETID tour, so strictly speaking the first tour that it was used in it's current guise as the "heads up the gig is on in t-4 minutes" song was the Dance of Death tour.

According to Setlist FM, DD was played over the PA before The Ides Of March and the MITRM intro on the NOTB tour but I can't testify for that

I'd argue though that in recent years, the crowd response to it coming on the PA has gotten stronger, at least at the gigs I was at.

Black Sabbath-War Pigs plays before every Judas Priest show starts. People in the audience sing along.

Well, Metallica's Doctor Doctor equivalent is actually Long Way To The Top by AC/DC, then the lights go down and it's followed by Ecstasy of Gold.
