Senjutsu - 20 Months Later

I'll follow suit and say:

1. Brave New World
2. Senjutsu
3. The Final Frontier
4. The Book of Souls
5. A Matter of Life and Death
6. Dance of Death

Guess I'll throw mine out there too:
  1. Brave New World
  2. A Matter of Life and Death
  3. Senjutsu
  4. Dance of Death
  5. The Book of Souls
  6. The Final Frontier
Just as a bit of fun, I decided to have a three-way shootout between my top three reunion albums to see how well Senjutsu stacked up to them:
  1. The Wicker Man
  2. Ghost of the Navigator
  3. Brighter Than A Thousand Suns
  4. Blood Brothers
  5. Days of Future Past
  6. Out of the Shadows
  7. The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
  8. For the Greater Good of God
  9. The Parchment
  10. Hell on Earth
Pretty much evenly split, surprisingly. Wicker Man and GoTN were easy picks, not only are they much stronger than their oppositions but that pairing remains one of the best one-two punches in Maiden's catalogue. Positions 3 and 10 were particularly strong across all three albums, though position 4 was a bit of a "best of a not-so-great bunch" situation.

1. Senjutsu
2. The Book of Souls
3. Brave New World
4. A Matter of Life and Death
5. Dance of Death
6. The Final Frontier

The "new car smell"/new album hype of Senjutsu is worn off and, IMO, think it's the best reunion era album. BNW and TBOS flip flop for 2nd and 3rd. Today I'm feeling TBOS a bit more...

It's weird with me, I think maybe because I am less of a metal guy and a bit more proggy - my lifelong 2 favorite bands are Rush and Yes. I found A Matter of Life and Death a bit too dark for my tastes. I remember having the same feeling when Metallica came out with And Justice for All (although that was like a lifetime ago). Of course it is as technically proficient as one would expect from the band, it's just a question of personal preferences. My list:

1. Senjutsu
2. The Final Frontier
3. Dance of Death
4. Brave New World
5. Book of Souls
6. A Matter of Life and Death

My Songs:
1. Hell on Earth
2. Isle of Avalon
3. Montsegur
4. Starblind
5. The Red and the Black
6. The Parchment
7. Dance of Death
8. Paschendale
9. The Great Unknown
10. The Nomad
Honorable Mention: The Rainmaker

Just started listening to it again after a 6 month layoff. Liking it more now than I did when it came out. I liked it when it when it came out, but it was a bit hard to digest at first.

6. Dance Of Death (Bar DOD, Paschendale and Rainmaker, there is no much to it. Journwyman live is better.)

Sorry, everyone, again.
You forgot categorizing by number of characters and number of vowels.

I gotta say that I still really love Senjutsu. It is a very strong album. And now hearing clips from Senjutsu, Stratego and Writing live just makes the songs so much stronger. I already loved the title track but goddamn it sounds amazing live. And Writing on the Wall. What a song that is. I would say its in my top 20 Maiden songs of all time. Its just perfect. And Parchment and Hell on Earth. I mean, those songs are flawless as well. Its Harris at his best.
I truly think this a special album. I love it
