RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

They should stop back-to-back gigs, even if they are at the same venue. Watched 2nd LA concert and Bruce sang great. Hallowed was great and Aces was passable. It's amazing what a day of rest in between does. Yes, back to backs are cheaper, but at their age, performance suffers massively.

Also, with the implied rule of 2 days off after back-to-backs, it would have almost the same financial impact. I guess the biggest problem is venue availibility and booking it for 3 days instead of 2.

Dave Moreno was at the LA show. He said Maiden are always great.
All that a read is positive reviews, and i try to watch many shows on youtube. Apart from mistakes like bruce the other day on infinite dreams that are normal i think that they are sonding great. Im getting used to new drum sound. About simon im not going to say haters but not fans. During phantom at los sngeles i think he starts before the hard drums before the rithm changes. I think i miss the flexibilty of nicko in thst part. But apart from that im enjoying the show.

Do you agree with his opinion? Maybe I didn't watch enough videos (or the wrong videos)
but I didn't notice Dave struggeling with solos?

I wouldnt say struggling but he doesnt play the solos like the album in many songs. But he plays a solo for sure. Maybe easier than the album for him. Struggle is not doing a solo? Or failing? Nah, he just go trough the solo in some songs the other day watching seventh son of a seventh son i was impresed with all. They nail the song.

He can be a bit sloppy and miss notes here and there, but he seems much more focused and inspired than he was around 8-10 years ago.

In 2-3 years? Just a way of saying? The normal plan would be the 2028 tour to cover only Europe, if they don't want to do a 1 big year of an album tour and then 2029 something new (a hybrid tour to be an option again, something like LOTB?; the new stage makes things easier and they could change the concept if they do Europe, NA and SA in 2028), but it makes sense to be a bigger tour with 2027 being off. I suppose they don't want to make plans for more than 1 tour ahead. Btw, I can't see a RFYL 2 concept after a new album/hybrid with new album tour for 1 or 2 years. More like new album + RFYL 2 in one, with some classics ofc (it could be like LOTB in a way).
He did say "maybe sooner than that" I think 2028 could mirror this years tour minus Aus/NZ/Japan. Do a European tour in the summer, tour North/South America in the Fall around 45 dates total.

I dreaded hearing Aces with the reaction that song has been getting, not sure if it was a live in the moment thing but it certainly was better than I was expecting it to be, still with it's flaws but it was fine.
One other note, Bruce saying see you all again in 2-3 years or maybe sooner was a good hint they aint done with us lol.
Charlotte was a special kinda show, but I think in general Bruce has been doing a lot better with Aces High from an outward perspective. I think he's figured out the sacrifices needed throughout the show to still be solid for the encore. I know we got a little extra juice out of them with Charlotte, but he's done great this leg imho. Better performance overall than even TBOS, and I adored that tour

Dave is a wild legato ride. Start and end point are usually to the album, whatever comes between is feel.

That being said, I think this tour, he was much more album-alligned and seemed to put care into it compared to seeing them a decade ago.TBOS show I saw, what was between the start and end notes was *good*, but totally abstract from the album solo.

At charlotte (at least pit/inner bowl behind oval pit) he was turned up a *bit* to high in the mix for Murders-phantom, so I definitely heard every finger and the sweat on the strings. I recall that slickness to the string glide feeling horrible to my ears lol. He did great. Id say 85% album accuracy with some feel in the mix. Him being higher than anything in the mix made me kinda happy tho; those early day songs are prime Dave being Dave, so Im glad my ears burned with his playing. For me, honestly, Im happy Dave destroyed our ears painfully. Havent appreciated him near enough compared to Adrian, but man, he fucking RIPS those first few songs

Charlotte was the 6th time I've seen them and it was the best. From what I've read they're tearing it up on this US leg in general.

Check the video i posted of ssoass at warsaw. He nails the solo and the whole band all the song. He seems to improvisate solos in some songs usually the same songs. I think there were worst tours ,and we speak about solos. The rest, perfect as usual. But since this tour started i think adrian is over the other 2

Hell yeah dude, happy as always to say up the irons to a fellow Charlotte attende. Show wouldnt remotely have been the same without the crowd. Special gig for sure.

But also, what is for sure, is this is a great fucking tour and the boys are on fire. I thought Id never top the TBOS performance, and I will always find the setlist special, but they topped it a decade later. A testament to Maiden despite all our bickering, is find me a truly early 80s starting act that can top, or at least be on the same level of a 2016 tour in 2026. It rolls back into the fact that Iron Maiden is a machine that never stops giving.

This might be the happiest I have seen them onstage for a while. Also, Wasted Years's tempo is much more consistent now than earlier on the tour.
I think the summer in europe was to hot for them ! at the end of the show bruce was really tired.

I dont know if more happy but the first show of the reunion was pure energy. Bruce was singing aces high jumping and running without any effort

That was 27 years ago. I in a while, and I meant this year's tour. The NA leg just seemed like they were going through motions up to the 2 LA gigs and the San Antonio gig. Yes, they were good, but they seemed really happy yesterday. Especially Steve, who rarely shows it.

I was going to put this in the song threads but those don't get nearly the amount of traffic so I'll ask this here and forgive me if this has been discussed before, but when did Bruce start changing the lines in Powerslave live?

On record - "When I was living this lie, fear was my game"

Currently live (not always but more often than not) - "When I was young and a man (?), fear was my game"

Seems like a weird thing to change but I'm sure there's an explanation. It's more than just changing "Light begins to change" to "Light begins to fade" in Fear of the Dark.

I noticed this a few weeks ago and a trip to Youtube indicates this happens more often than not during this song on at least the current tour. Going back to the Book of Souls live album it's changed there as well.
