Queensryche & Geoff Tate

I CAN'T WAIT FOR JUNE 11th!!!!!!!!

Are you ready for REDEMPTION?
THIS IS VINDICATION!!!
I can't wait either! It's going to be awesome. I hope Tateryche manages to come up with something in the vein of Tribe, which I liked a lot. Of course, Tribe had the benefit of DeGarmo.

Edit: I think Tate is deliberately withholding posting samples like QR (La Torre) did, because he doesn't want the fans to prematurely know that he's not going back to basics.

Madness indeed. I remember the vague reasons he gave for leaving Tate and now he's kicking him extra in the nuts as well. The Todd La Torre fronted Queensryche can't have another reason to invite Drover. I mean, for the rest they don't have anything to do with eachother.

Personally I chuckled at the fact that Tate's album cover has a large F.U in the middle of it, there's clearly a lot of malice and pettiness coming from the other QR (as Foro said, what other reason?) so props to him for not taking it lying down ;p

This has all been ridiculous from the start, and I don't think it's fair to say EITHER side is "right" or anything here.

After all the BS tatertot put the band through, the official REAL QR wins for me. He didn't allow the main band members to hardly write songs on the last 3 albums and brought in outside writers. He spit on his band members and threatened them with a knife in Brazil. He's been very unprofessional in how he's handled the situation since QR fired him. Look at this for example: http://www.blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=183681 Also, look at this: http://www.blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=176587 Also, go here and have a look around: http://www.anybodylistening.net/breakdownroom/index.php?board=13.0 How anyone can support tatertot after reading all that is beyond me. I love that Glen Drover said FU to tatertot and is playing with QR!

Tate's fan base is equivalent in size to that of the local street musician.

"FU"? Really?

You know, falling so deep is one thing. Making absolutely no effort to get back up is another.

Amazon has posted samples of each track on the Tateryche album.

Edit: I'll buy this. There are a couple of promising tracks. I will consider this a GT solo album though.

Edit 2: I'm pretty confident the drums to I Don't Believe in Love are programmed. The entire album sounds pretty cheap overall.

Edit 3: Wait. I won't buy this at all. I will stream it. Two semi interesting songs isn't enough to warrant a purchase in this case.

Edit 4: Yup. Certainly programmed.

Those snippets aren't enough for me to judge it properly.

There are longer snippers on iTunes, 1,5 minutes.

And it's cringe-worthy (I did *like* a couple of the tunes). The vocals are shot, and the midi drums on the remakes are outrageous. They aren't even programmed well.

I took a listen to the iTunes snippets. Given how I was expecting the whole album to sound like Wot We Do, this is better. But you really notice the bad quality of the vocals much more on the longer versions. Some tunes are interesting but I wish another band would have had that melody idea and run with it, here it just seems wasted. And as for the re-recordings, who knows why they were even made in the first place (aside from the record company wanting the rights to them), the originals are all much better. Silent Lucidity especially is a shambles.

This song is credited as Tate/Degarmo.
Someone please tell me the main lyrical point is Degarmo's so Tate's hypocrisy doesn't ruin a great song
You and I
long to live like the wind upon the water.
If we close our eyes, we'll maybe realize
there's more to life than what we have known.
And I can't believe I've spent so long
living lies I know were wrong inside,
I've just begun to see the light.

Long ago there was a dream,
had to make a choice or two.
Leaving all I loved behind,
for what nobody knew.
Stepped out on the stage, a life
under lights and judging eyes.
Now the applause has died and I
can dream again...

Is there anybody listening?
Is there anyone that sees what's going on?
Read between the lines,
criticize the words they're selling.
Think for yourself and feel the walls
become sand beneath your feet

Feel the breeze?
Time's so near you can almost taste the freedom.
There's a warm wind from the south.
Hoist the sail and we'll be gone,
by morning this will all seem like a dream.
And if you don't return to sing the song,
maybe just as well.
I've seen the news and there's
not much I can do...alone

Is there anybody listening?
Is there anyone who smiles without a mask?
What's behind the words--images
they know will please us?
I'll take what's real. Bring up the lights.

Is there anybody listening?
Is there anyone that sees what's going on?
Read between the lines,
criticize the words they're selling.
Think for yourself and feel the walls...
become sand beneath your feet.

I listened to some of the Amazon snippets. I could only dare to listen to one new song. It was bad. Almost Wot We Do level. The re-recorded tracks sound ass compared to the originals, I really don't get the point.
