Maiden Radio

Yes, I heard Maiden on the radio. Die With Your Boots On, Aces High and Wasted Years. Believe it or not. Can't remember the station.

I have Sirius satellite radio, and they play Maiden all the time. I'm in my car about one hour per day, and I hear Maiden almost every day - so I'd guess Sirius plays them about once per hour.

As to the songs - too many to name. Not just singles either - I've heard songs like Seventh Son and ROTAM multiple times. (Though I've never heard them play Blaze songs.)

Hey Mysterio,

I assume you were at the show Monday night. Excellent especially if you're oldenough to remember the band's late 80s heyday. Unbelievably the concert was the cover story on both our newspapers.

Be sure to check out my thread about my internet show RadioactiveMetal and get your submission in for this week's special IRON MAIDEN episode.

True the radio here sucks but we're definately gonna be picking up the slack.

Amen to that SMX! Buzzsaw 19 is the best radio station to have ever graced the Earth.

The last bike shop I worked at had Buzzsaw on all the time, so I got to heare some good Maiden tunes on it.

There is a new radio station here that will play Maiden on occasion, I mite hear them once every other day or so.  Many tunes, but all from the Somewhere Back In Time era.

The great thing about Buzzsaw though, is not just that they play a ton of Maiden, it's the other stuff they play as well, and much of it deep cuts that you NEVER hear on the radio.

Not just Buzzsaw - Hard Attack (the metal station, I think it's channel 23) also plays Maiden - though not as often as Buzzsaw, since Hard Attack focuses more on new metal.

And for those who have Sirius but don't know this - every weekday at 10am Eastern time, they play what they call "British Steel" - a 3-song set of NWOBHM tunes, including some very deep cuts. But they'll get Maiden on the British Steel list about once a week.

And Hair Nation also plays Maiden - I heard "Holy Smoke" there today on my way home from work.

And Finland, which is supposed to be a country with a lot of metal fans, never plays metal on its radio stations.  There is pretty much one channel where you can hear metal, and even that is more rock than metal...

I did hear Metallica's Enter Sandman on a pop channel last summer though.

Well, considering that that was step 2 into their slide into more poppier and shitty music, that's understandable.

Everyone, feel free to lynch me now if you are so inclined.

Hard Attack is OK but there's way too much Cookie Monster on there for my taste.

And what's wrong with the Cookie Monster? He rocks!

To the point - they never ever play Maiden on any of the "common" radio stations in Norway, but I've had the pleasure of seeing Maiden videos on a TV program called "Svisj" which is a sort of chat program where the viewers vote for their favorite songs by SMS. I've seen Rainmaker, The Wicker Man and The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg on there  :)

Just to make that clear: I don't normally watch chat programs on TV. I've only watched this kind of program in the morning, when drinking coffee, and nothing else being on TV. Chat programs are generally stupid, especially those with a host sitting there talking rubbish and telling the kids to send SMS. But Svisj is not the worst in that respect - sometimes you get good music.
