I'm travelling to the USA tomorrow

My parents and I are driving from Nova Scotia to the big ol' US of A tomorrow. It's about a 12 hour trip from where we live (my God, this country is friggen huge!)

We plan to cross the border at Woodstock, New Brunswick / Houlton, Maine around 2:00am Atlantic Standard Time.

Do any frequent Canada/US border hopers have some advice for us to avoid getting held up at the border?

As Canadians, we don't require passports to go to the US, but we're bringing them anyway. We're also bringing some locally brewed beer and some of my father's own wine as gifts for friends.

Have a nice stay in the U.S then. Man, you picked a rough time to come down here. Don't you know that the US gets hot in the summer? I hope you Canadians can handle it ... I can barely handle it myself! Yeah, you don't have to pack your mittens, IronDuke [!--emo&;)--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Actually, I live further south than my destination in Maine. Nova Scotia is a peninsula on a North-South axis, and I live near the middle.

Going back to our discussion on latitude, he'll be at the same one I am at, rather than his normal 45.
