Love this album. It's my 2nd favorite Maiden album after Powerslave. I know that's a very unpopular opinion here, but this album just clicked with me like few ever have. It was the right music at the right time in the right place for me. I liked the early 90s "hard rock" version of Maiden and Bruce's singing style for it. I liked the jagged edge that Janick brought to the music. Even got a cool FotD tattoo on my back!

Helmuth Von Moltke

Educated Fool
1. Fear Of The Dark
2. Afraid To Shoot Strangers
3. Judas Be My Guide
4. Be Quick Or Be Dead
5. The Apparition [for the lyrics!!!]
6. Fear Is The Key
7. Childhoods End
8. Chains Of Misery
9. The Fugitive
10. Wasting Love
11. From Here To Eternity
12. Weekend Warrior

...reminds me how much filler there is on this one. And how I'd rate two of the singles at the lower end of the album.

But Apparition remains a guilty pleasure! Love the meaning behind the lyrics, I keep singing them to myself still to this day.

Abysmal display of mental decay
There’s a thread in the commentary section for each Maiden album that already covers this. The one for FOTD is here.

It Was a Dark and Stormy Night
Fear Of the Dark album should have been:

1. Be Quick or Be Dead
2. From Here to Eternity
3. Afraid to Shoot Strangers
4. Childhood's End
5. Judas Be My Guide
6.Holy Smoke
7. Run Silent Run Deep
8. No Prayer For the Dying
9. Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter
10. Fear of the Dark
:rocker:
If this album would be produced at Black album's level...
Song Dance of the Tsars is not included, because of today's political context.

It's a decent mash up.

My "No Prayer For The Dark" would be:
  1. Be Quick Or Be Dead
  2. Afraid To Shoot Strangers
  3. P.E. Number One
  4. No Prayer For The Dying
  5. Childhood's End
  6. Fates Warning
  7. Tailgunner
  8. Mother Russia*
  9. Run Silent Run Deep
  10. Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter
  11. Fear Of The Dark
* despite Putin and his minions being utter bastards can't see why it should be left out. Putin isn't Russia or its people (and even less so in 1990)

Also like Holy Smoke a lot and Judas Be My Guide but I think they would sound like strange bodies alongside these other songs

I don't care much about the rest, as I think that all of them are fillers. However 6 songs that I like a lot in a pre-2000 Iron Maiden album is really worth noting. I barely have more than 2 in each album they released before Brave New World. (Killers has none, and Piece of Mind has only Revelations for me)
