Fixing sound on bootlegs

Don't know if this is the right place for this post, so felle free to move it if it is not.

I'd like to discuss if anyone else is tooling around with the sound of bootlegs to get a more coherent sound, for example when making compilations from different sources. I'm right now mainly using multiband compressor in reaper to at least level out the frequences but would like to know if anyone else have any good tips and advice for this kind of editing?

I'd be interested to know as well. I'd like to have at least one good (soundboard or close) recording from each tour, and some tours I can't find soundboard on (Ed Hunter, Somewhere in Time), so cleaning up an audience recording would have to be attempted.

Never could figure out why we can’t get a live album from the Ed Hunter tour. They had to have recorded enough for one since we’ve heard some tracks from some of the Brave New World singles and they all kick ass.
