D# on The BBC Archives?

So I noticed that on the first 4 songs on The BBC Archives the band is all tuned to D#. That's pretty uncharacteristic for Maiden, I thought I'd point that out.
 
It should be running too slow, as it's a half step lower then E.

And it seems fine to me.
 
Foro is correct - if it's a tape speed issue, then the tape was running too fast. Thus it would sound slowed down (and lower in pitch) at normal speed.

However, I just listened to Running Free (track 2 on BBC Archives) and it doesn't sound like a tape speed issue. It really is tuned down (I double-checked with my bass).
