UK Politics

About 1 TRILLION pounds are leaving the UK for the EU mainland as businesses shift.
About 1M Europeans living/working in the UK will be in legal limbo if they stay once BREXIT finally hits.

Where did you get those figures from? There are over 3M EU citizens living in the UK...

Rees-Mogg talking about passing May's deal now, and then progressing from that point at a later date, rather than not leaving at all or delaying Brexit now. Too late for that I'd imagine.

This was pretty much May's plan all along: hold her nerve with the deal she'd negotiated, threaten pro-EU MPs with No Deal and anti-EU MPs with no Brexit or a long delay, then get enough on board to get it through parliament. Problem is that she's lost control of the situation.

JRM can talk about getting this deal through parliament to ensure he gets some sort of Brexit and then working on it from there, but I doubt the EU would want to renegotiate anything in the withdrawal agreement once it has been ratified. The future relationship has yet to be negotiated though and it depends Parliament approving the withdrawal agreement first, which won't happen.

Well, you can probably stop now as I personally don't feel this is the case, although I would not use the term "your own people" (that tribal language is rather obsolete), rather "people standing for parliament elected in democratic elections at the country where one lives and pays his/her taxes".

Tribal language? Lmfao. Leftism run amok. Your own country's governance has been contracted out to elites of other nationalities several thousand miles outside of your borders (remember those antiquated things?)....and you're offended by referring to your own countrymen...sorry "countrypeople"...better?

That is incorrect too. People in the UK with many differing political views (from the traditional socialism at the left to those that see themselves in the centre left, the centre right - where Bruce places himself - or the right) voted for Brexit for many different reasons, many of them absolutely valid (and I say this as someone who would have preferred the Remain option to win).
Fair enough but you cant deny the usual slander by the media and some on the left as 'EvErYoNe fOr BrExIt iS a MoUtH BrEaThInG XeNoPhObE!!11!'....

Wait....somebody actually had a plan?

As a fan of Escher, I find these cartoons pretty funny!

Someone new to put on ignore.

Snowflakes everywhere. Liberalism has turned into a disease of the mind and a religious cult. Afraid to be challenged on their religious dogma so they either shout 'nazi' or put their fingers in their ears when the come across anyone who strays from their cult.

You’re correct that there’s a disturbingly large group on the left that has forgotten what free speech means and is veering quickly toward accusing people of thoughtcrime, or something close to it. Sane liberals need to stand up to the nuts and remind them that no one has the right to demand that people not offend them. The good news is that the vast majority of liberals are still in the sane category, though the nuttier ones get more attention.

At the same time, there’s a disturbingly large group on the right that seems to immediately write off anyone who isn’t a conservative as a “libtard snowflake”, and who won’t consider listening to any point of view they don’t already agree with. And since their point of view is often deeply rooted in rural white protestant values, that automatically puts them at odds with anyone who’s had a different life experience. Sane conservatives need to stand up to the nuts and remind them that no one has the right to demand that everyone else live in a way that they personally approve of. There used to be a large contingent of sane conservatives who could be called upon to do that, but they’ve been conspicuously silent for some time, at least in the United States.

Hear, hear! I am not American but know this for ages. It is happening in more countries I'm afraid. The name calling can be different, the rest not so much.

Dogma talk.
