Blaze mocking harris in an interview?

Mega

Ancient Mariner
I read this on wikipedia's page on Virtual XI:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_XI

"We should have been making albums in the vein of Wolfsbane, good time party rock," Bayley said in an interview with Kicked in the Face in 2004. "I had written songs called 'Live the Thunder', 'Riding the Wolf' and 'Love is the Winner' which were miles better than the crap Steve (Harris) was coming up with."

I Don't think Blaze said such a thing, he was a part of the band and i dont think there was any conflict within the band at that time. It seems odd that he sang in the album and later said it was "crap".

I still have trouble with believing that he said that.

Did you find that quote on another page besides Wikipedia? If not, then it's probably a heap of horsesh*t.

I tried googeling several parts of it but nothing came up.
I can't even find that "kicked in the face" magazine that's mentioned there.

Even so, i never thought wikipedia will have such an obvious load of bull.

That quote doesn't sound at all like Blaze. Everything else I've heard him say has been at least polite to Maiden.

Plus, he hasn't really done Wolfsbane-style "party rock" since he joined and left Maiden. His solo band certainly wasn't party rock.

The whole thing just sounds like some VXI-hater trolling Wikipedia for no good reason.

I guess you're right.
Off to correct the wrongs of the interwebs!

Okay, mistake corrected. hope it'll stick.

Spot on, 10 points and amen to that.

Can anyone on here imagine Blaze singing "party rock" at all? I can't  :D

You obviously haven't heard much Wolfsbane then. ;)

Njet, I must admit I haven't - I based that upon how Blaze sounded in Maiden, but I'll check out some Wolfsbane songs later today, I promise  B)

PS: Listening to Manhunt on youtube now. Definitely a lot "happier" than I had expected from a song with Blaze on vocals. He even does a falsetto scream!

What is that supposed to mean?

Remember the Steve played drums on Virtual 11 thread?  I seem to recall Albie was in the trenches on that one.

Blaze actually sound REALLY cool on his pre-Maiden songs. A very different style that fitted his voice very good.
