1990/91 bootleg question

Dick Brucinson

The TRUE Dick Brucinson
As far as I know, 1990/91 isn't very well documented. So I am searching for the best quality bootlegs from the NPFTD-based tour. I know Frankfurt is pretty good, also I know a few songs from the Wembley show. But that's it actually. So, any advice anybody? Thank you so much everybody. <3

Ayr 1990 is a good one that's pretty easy to find. There are several versions of the Wembley gig (the one where most live b-sides were recorded), the best one I know is called Save Your Prayers. It's a great recording and performance. The best of those I know however is Paris Le Zénith, and I've heard others say it's the best from the tour.

first night Paris or 2nd?

Wembley is a fantastic soundboard, but unfortunately incomplete. As far as bootlegs go, Sledgehammer appears to be the most complete, since some boots of the show doesn't include "The Assassin." Really wish a complete version existed, because the quality's great and the band was in great form as well.

I have war machine. But i csnt remember if its in this one ore another one, before playing no prayer for the dying or holy smoke bruce make a rant and for me he sounds drunk as fuck. And he says something that they are not drinking anymor

There are quite a few interesting bootlegs from this tour with good to great quality:
Leicester, 2nd of October, with the name of "This is thirsty work" (taped by a guy called Gigaddiction)
London, Hammersmith, 18 of October, probably not the best sounding, but still quite one but what matters is that you can clearly hear Bruce announcing Blaze's arrival on stage to sing Bring your daughter with him
As said before, the gig from the second night in Paris, known by the name of Shrapnel is one of the very best (the best?) sounding from this tour
The second night in Leiden, there are quite a lot of different versions (6 or 7 if I'm not mistaken) but some of them are really great sounding. And fun fact, they totally mess up Run to the Hills
The 20th of February show in Los Angeles has also a great sound (again there are quite some versions, I can't remember which one sounds the best)
The John Doe_Sweden version of the 29th of June 1991, Roskilde festival, has also a great sound

Last one but just for fun: The one in Saarbrücken, on the 23rd of November is an interesting one as well just because Bruce is so sick that he can barely sing (after this gig a few dates had to be cancelled). So its "nice" to hear the vocal melodies sung a little bit...differently

Wembley is amazing. Sounds better than some of the recent legit live albums by Maiden. If I recall correctly, the only missing song is Bring Your Daughter. While it is a shame that we don't have an entire concert in that quality, at least the song that is missing has seen multiple live releases, so it's not that big of a deal for me.

Nobody heard that bootleg? He says if i remember " we dont drink anymore, since september" its before holy smoke. I cant find it. I heard that long time ago maybe 2003. Its fun because he sounds drunk. I think its not war machine

I've always been partial to Sledgehammer and it's been my go-to - although I do tend to fill in the "missing" songs, mostly 22AA from other bootlegs, sometimes BYDTTS as well - but annoyingly I rely on YouTube uploads for my bootlegs and it seems the highest-quality version sound-wise has been lost due to the account being closed for DMCA claims.

I've gotten a lot of mine from @IronCarnage 's bootleg thread on here, where he links a great Mega Drive list. Basically, I find one on YouTube I like, and see if his Mega Drive has it, since it'll probably be better quality than YouTube'll give me. And if there's something missing, I can usually assemble something decent out of it from other soundboards from that tour.

Complete and utter side note: Doing a mostly complete X Factour of all soundboards was a beast though, looking for both high sound quality that matched the others I had as well as listenable performances by Blaze. Outside of the Eternal Flame boot (which is incomplete), the best soundboards were in South America where his voice was good and blown. So...I cut Trooper entirely, since I'm not sure there's a good performance of that anywhere in existence, let alone on a TXF soundboard.

@Dick Brucinson

Not soundboard but quite a nice one. I love how Nicko sounds on this one (and he drums awesome) but the others are very audible as well. It has atmosphere too. I'm enjoying some of it now, playing a couple of songs.

This bootleg features The Evil and The Prisoner which were only played during the final four concerts of 1991 (and not at all in 1990).

Live at Paul Ricard: Autodrome Paul Ricard Le Castellet, 21st September 1991.

1. Tailgunner 00:00
2. Public Enema Number One 04:08
3. Wrathchild 08:07
4. Hallowed Be Thy Name 11:08
5. 22 Acacia Avenue 18:30
6. The Prisoner 25:23
7. No Prayer for the Dying 32:54
8. The Evil That Men Do 37:15
9. The Trooper 41:38
10. Iron Maiden 45:36
11. The Number of the Beast 50:34
12. Bring You Daughter... to the Slaughter 54:57
13. Run to the Hills 01:04:36
14. Sanctuary 01:08:45

The bootleg leaves out 4 songs from the concert. According to https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/iron...paul-ricard-le-castellet-france-33d39479.html they are: Die With Your Boots On, The Clairvoyant, 2 Minutes to Midnight and Heaven Can Wait.

The Wembley boots are missing either 4 or 5 songs, depending on which bootleg you get. All soundboards are missing Bring Your Daughter, 22, Heaven Can Wait, and Sanctuary. Other versions are also missing The Assassin.

A lot has been taken down since I published this thread, but you may find what you need there. ;)

South american rise. I have it too.

I recently combined the Wembley soundboard bootleg with the tracks used for B-Sides from that night. If you're interested DM me.
