At this point I feel sad for every song coming in. Be Quick or Be Dead and Sun and Steel are great, but the competition is hard!

Odd how people can feel so different... then again The Angel and the Gambler is a guilty pleasure of mine so who am I to judge?

Bruce Dickinson a better singer in 1986 or 2016?

How amazing were the Killers tour performances by Bruce? I wish I could have been there for the Ruskin Arms performance..

The most satisfying fact so far is that the Blaze Bayley sunged tracks have managed to stay out of the absolute bottom. I expect a few droping in soon though. I think Dont Look To The Eyes of a Stranger is next!

There's quite a few songs that get more credit than they deserve. Iron Maiden and The Number of The Beast are two that are popular beyond my understanding.

Childhoods End was my first Maiden song, next to Relevations. I liked it. I soon heard Fear of the Dark and like you said, who could hate it? My father always played Best of the Beast, so I grew up with that version of Afraid To Shoot Strangers, loved it. I do like From Here to Enternity...

What are the least memorable Maiden songs?

I can place any song on any album after hearing it for 5 seconds, but not with TFF or BOS. These albums didnt stick the same way the previous did. So theres a few tracks from those who I tend to forget about.

Its all opinions ;) I would say the same thing if someone called The X Factor horrible, so I guess I should be more delicate with my words. My point was that it has the name of one of their most popular songs and dont hold up to it. Title track and ATSS are amazing songs. The first Maiden songs...

General fan vibe during the Blaze days

I get your point, but I have to disagree with that part about success gives you freedom. I cant see how Maiden compromised with anything as a pub band. They stayed true to their idea regardless. It might be true in some cases, but not with Maiden. If anyone would like to discuss this subject...

To be fair Fear of the Dark is a horrible album. Just to think how many people that wanted an introduction to the band and played this album because of its association with the song...

Also met Rance, Sullivan, Moore, Stratton and Di'Anno! Got some very detailed information regarding songs. Of tape of course, but if walls could speak..

I meet him once working for a music magazine. He was paid a sum for the rights to the song. Great man with great stories.

What if Stratton and Di'Anno returned in the 90's?

Of course not. You cant record The X Factor with Paul. Thats like recording Death Metal with David Lee Roth. I dont think Bruce would let Maiden go in that direction either. He wanted to do Skunkworks. The situation would have been totaly different. Maybe they would have recorded a live album...

What if Stratton and Di'Anno returned in the 90's?

And the original comment was not? Yes, true. But many regard Blaze as five steps back. Maybe it would have been easier with a familiar face?
