    Gates of Tomorrow

The verses are really gross. 2/10

    The Educated Fool

Hmm I like this song but can't objectively rate it any higher than a 5.

All the VXI songs come to life live

Both the X-Factor and Virtual XI obviously both suffer from bad production. In the X-Factor's case, I feel like it adds to the surreal atmosphere of the album even though it isn't great and think the songs have more oomph and energy live. But on Virtual XI it's just bad and drags the album down...

    What guitar do you play?

I recently purchased a Fender electro-acoustic. My main instrument is cello but I wanted to learn guitar to supplement my songwriting. It's been pretty fun so far

    Blaze Bayley

Touché. I always hated that song One More Step in particular. I don't get how anyone can listen to that and think "wow, this sounds really good." This is more what I'm talking about:

    Blaze Bayley

Andy Sneap pulled that off really well on Silicon Messiah. He also sounds really good on the album Endure and Survive and his collaborations with Thomas Zwijsen. Even though he's improved vastly in the past 4 years or so, he has a lot of work to do in order to sing well consistently. But as...

    Brighter Than A Thousand Suns

I think this might be the heaviest song in Maiden's catalogue, sonically speaking. Those two 7/4 riffs kick serious behind.

    Blaze Bayley

I like Blaze doing his own songs more than with Bruce. Not that Bruce really sings any Blaze songs anyway besides Lord of the Flies, Futureal, Clansman, and Sign of the Cross.

How many Maiden songs are in E Minor?

I don't think it's much of an issue that a lot of their songs are in the same key because with equal temperament the listner doesn't perceive any difference anyway. I think it's more the lack of modulation that can lead to certain songs sounding stale. Like a lot of the stuff from the newer...

    Blaze Bayley

    Lmao

    Blaze Bayley

If you listen closely, you can tell it was partially recorded in the studio, which makes the album title pretty ironic

    Sea of Madness

Such a great Maiden deep cut. The bass is so fat, it's one of my favorite Steve Harris tracks. Great chorus too

    Now drinking

I saw a new Maiden beer in the liquour store today and was tempted to buy it. My sense of pride stopped me from falling prey to a marketing gimmick, as if it didn't have a Maiden label would I really care about it? ....I might try it eventually. :p

    Look For the Truth

I think the lyrics are the best Steve ever wrote.

Weakest Song from each Iron Maiden album

I never understood the hate for Gangland. Most Maiden fans seem to hate it. The only thing wrong with it for me is the unfinished solo section, I don't know what happened there, it would've made an already great song even better. I think Invaders is way more corny and cringeworthy.

    Complaints about Maiden

I agree they don't really like to modulate much which sounds stale after a while, but I'm not sure what you mean by "chord based arrangements". Unless it's a joke that's going over my head.

    Longest instrumental passages

I wouldn't mind another instrumental track like Losfer Words.

    Bruce nasty to fans??

It's easy to forget sometimes that celebrities are people too. Like other people have said, he's probably fed up with having his space and boundaries violated by the rabid papparazi and can seem callous because of that.

    Blaze Bayley

That's a pretty accurate assesment of the situation IMO. It is pretty dissapointing to hear he's been this complacent from the get go though. I've never heard of "At The End Of The Day" did someone really write a book about Blaze? I agree Endure and Survive is one of his best albums. My...

    Your Maiden blasphemy

Yeah that does seem contradictory the way I put it. What I meant was that while he can demonstrate that he's still a great singer, age and cancer has still caught up to him and he doesn't sound as good as he used to, to me. A lot of others like his current voice and timbral change, I find it a...
