There was the agreement as well after the USSR if the Ukrainians gave up the nukes they would not be invaded .. how many times has that been broken (3 or 4) .. now, Crimea, separatist regions (maybe not invaded, but at least armed by Russia)

I guess the other factor is whatever the terms are, how much trust do they have that the Russians will keep their end of the bargain

On Netflix (in the US) there is a documentary called Winter on Fire about the 2014 Maidan revolution ... very interesting and informative to current events. I am sure that was covered much more extensively at the time in Europe versus the US (where it was covered, but not much).

Right. Which is why I said the US could survive this fairly easily. We can do what we can to send LNG and coal to Europe in the short term ...partial solution for sure. But they have until next winter to figure it out. Ukraine does not have that much time

That would be great, but until the taps from Russia are shut down they can keep marching. Europe needs to do the same and fast ..and that would have a greater impact than the US doing it ...but the US needs to do it soon and we can manage
