I wrote Martin Bushell to ask him about his involvement with Maiden and he was actually a member of the band! He auditioned for them in May '79, replacing Paul Cairns, and in his own words he "got the job". He only took part in rehearsals.
Bushell is never mentioned in any offical biography.
Magnus, what do you want to know?
I read this Metallian interview many years ago but never figured it out. Jeff Summers is refering to Maiden's formative years, so my best bet for any truth behind it is that they were there before Steve founded (called it) Iron Maiden. At those times there...
Forostar, please include "For the People" in the 1st lineup - confirmed by Scarf Maiden (from Facebook). Another cover from Stray, played in their first gigs and never recorded.
There were a couple more songs who disappeared from the set list... The funky (almost reggae) Floating song, banned in 1978 and returning in 1981 in hm style as Purgatory. Also Burning Ambition in 1979, being replaced by Running Free.
Another Nicko's record unearthed from the time when he worked for Young Blood records as a session musician...
MAC & KATIE KISSOON - Love Will Keep Us Together (b/w I'm Up in Heaven), 1973.
The single was recorded a few years before CAPTAIN & TENILLE's famous version, but it didn't chart in...
All that info surfaced some time after Dennis Willcock got back to life in 2014. Maiden77 took the front, but me and a very few knew that years before.
I guess most of that info is correct, albeit "The Pit" (or "Endless Pit") was called like this only in Gypsy's Kiss. In Maiden it started as...
No. You can check the rehearsal tape with the track list in this Thunderstick interview:

"Highway Road in Time "was a Steve Harris composition from the Smiler era. According to Bob Sawyer, Iron Maiden played it a few times in 1977 and then left out of the set. He also said it had nothing to do with "Black Bart Blues" (but I guess we'll never know).
Forostar please correct these 2 songs: "Transylvania" - erase it from the 1st lineup, "Prodigal Son" - erase it from the 4th lineup.
Explanation (given to SRFC also) is I believe (and I mean believe) "Transylvania" was composed at the same time as "Prowler" - some character/theme Willcock...
After Clive, they worked with Thierry Dutru for a while and then with Fred Medjane, who recorded Man's Trap. Only then they started the "Les 100 Jours Tour"
You're absolutely right. It took some time to answer because, first, I had to listen every bit of them again, second I knew Bernie (or Moho) said they always recorded 2 albums each time: the original and its english version. In my annotations I had that Nicko recorded Marche Ou Creve when he...
So I wonder what Ian Hoyle is doing in this album? His name appears before Nicko in the drums credit (back cover of the LP).
GhostofCain is correct, the album is simply called GILTRAP.
