Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

Steve Harris as the best songwriter (something I agree with), but The Writings on the Wall voted the best song ;). I assume the votes were shared between two of the four Harris's songs.

    Your favourite three album closers

I don't feel the same about this song, but I can perfectly understand you. This is exactly how I feel when I listen to recent Priest and Dream Theater stuff.

which parts from TNOTB would make a good DiAnno performance?

He would have done a great job on the whole album I think. Invaders, the second part of Run to the Hills, even Hallowed. Paul once was a fantastic singer, not as limited in his range as some say. I think the the first song Harris wrote which doesn't suit DiAnno's voice at all is Where Eagles Dare.

    Maiden’s political silence

The two shows added in Latvia and Lituana are the best possible response. That's great to come and play there and now.

    Your Maiden blasphemy

Thanks a lot for those (convincing) developments. I had the same feel with Dream of Mirrors and Blood Brothers, but never thought about the whole album in that perspective.

Would you please provide a link to your previous statments? I'd love to read more on your opinion on that matter.

Is it worth joining the fanclub?

You are right. I did not. I don't give a shit about the tee-shirts (I got loads of them and I always wear the same one at gigs), but the I find the digital magazines a hard pill to swallow. If they tour smaller venues playing Senjutsu in its entirety, my renewal will prove useful, otherwise...

Is it worth joining the fanclub?

It would indeed. But that would mean scanning dozens of magazines and making them avalaible. The week after, all the pdf would be on the Internet, for all to download for free.

Is it worth joining the fanclub?

Do you seriously think they would do that ?

Is it worth joining the fanclub?

I'm currently losing patience too. My only motivation to remain right now is getting the right to buy tickets before the "general public", but I'm not even sure this is real advantage, considering to shitty seats I'm sometimes proposed. Maiden has approx. 25 former members, fans who are eager to...

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

Thanks but I felt like shit all the same. The guy had to quit his job because of cronic health problems and had to sale his beloved collection. He sold me magazines from the 80s and you could see from their perfect condition how much he cherished that stuff.

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

I've stopped collecting records and objects: (1) because it is an almost impossible task with Maiden, (2) because I never succeeded in buying The soundhouse Tapes, (3) because I find it pointless now. But, on the other hand, I've developped a kind of obsession with paper: tour programs, books...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I've never understood this obession with repetition. Have you ever heard Beethoven's 5th Symphony, especially the 1st movement? This is repetition of a rather simple motif. But it works, because the motif is constantly renewed by its context. I won't compare Harris to Beethoven, but this is how...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

:applause: I love your way to deal with potential objections. I would add that it's scientifically proven that Steve Harris is the greatest Metal songwriter ever.

    Paul Di'Anno

Thank you very much. I've watched the video and the sound is just terrible. Each time I listen to a Paul intervieuw I'm surprised to hear how pleasant his voice is.

Legacy Of The Beast Post-Pandemic Leg

I remember the two first Slayer gigs I attented in the early 90s. The first one opened with Rain in Blood. A massive bang, everyone going nuts. The second one opened with Hell Awaits: a fantastic heavy song, but way too slow to make one explode with enthusiasm. And those moments have a big input...

Legacy Of The Beast Post-Pandemic Leg

Good point. I like when gigs start with a bang. Remember that awful Satellite 15 and The Final Frontier ? We had to wait for ages and then a mid tempo tune. Aces High, Caught Somewhere in Time or Where Eagles Dare fitted more.
