Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)
Meaning I find redeeming qualities in everything Maiden and I find the least amount of them on Virtual XI. Its boring, uninspired, nowhere close to the X-Factor and the least played album by me right along with No Prayer.
Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)
I will re-word the question.
Why is it considered by some impossible for others to have determined whether or not they like an album in less than 24 hours?
Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)
Here's the fangroup in a nutshell:
1) Fans who piss up a rope when The Trooper isn't played live seventeen years after it was recorded.
2) Posers who flooded the boards to grab a copy but never stuck around to actually talk...
Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)
Yeah, I quickly thought about editing that. I'm just interpreting it anyway. I don't believe it.
Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)
What i think he means is with Maiden's distinctive sound, liking one track means you like that sound, hence the band.
Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)
I don't get why nobody - including hardcore Maiden fans - can't listen to an album and say "hey, this is a good album" in less than 24 hours.

Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)
Part of that, I believe, has to do with expectations. We needed to be sure Maiden still had it after Virtual XI, not to mention Dickinson's re-entrance.
It worked out very, very well.
Re: The Official Waiting For The Final Frontier And I'm About To Pop My Clogs Thread
The way I feel about judging albums is if I'm listening to it constantly, I must like it.
Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)
DoD is what started it. It was the lengthier (and more organic up until that point) songs that caught on. Dance, Pachendale...even No More Lies. I think that's when Maiden truly started expanding. We all know what they did on...
Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)
Maybe I'm crazy....but I feel like this album makes BNW seem almost archaic. The band needed to expand. They have three guitarists. I like BNW alot but looking back, it was ridiculously polished.
Re: Official thread for Final Frontier discussion (Spoilers inside)
It becomes progressively better from start to finish. I'm not skipping anything except El Dorado and that's only because I've already heard it a million times.
I think the trick behind Wild Wind is the tounge-in-cheek feel of...
