They did the same thing in the 80s, this isn't a modern thing. There are plenty of interviews from TNOTB where Steve mentioned that he had the luxury of picking songs for the first two albums, but had to meet the deadline and write the new stuff for the third album until then. Credits are not...

Damn, heavily disagreed on that one. It's in my top 5 Maiden albums and the only song I truly dislike is The Apparition. The rest ranges from goofy but fun (Chains Of Misery, From Here To Eternity) to great short rockers (BQOBD, Judas Be My Guide) to atmospheric songs with amazing melodies...

I saw them back in 2013. Funnily enough I did not enjoy their show at the time, like at all. Nowadays they sound very different, but I was quite surprised when I heard more of their recent and popular stuff because my memory of their concert was veeery different.
