I finished my IB diploma in 2004 here on the Canadian west coast. Didn't do that great... 27/45 I got totally burnt out by the end of it too. Didn't care if I passed or not anymore(since I was going to get my regular diploma anyway). If I had the choice again I wouldn't have done it. I didn't...
This thread has been started as a way of listing for quick reference and discussing the books/novels, movies, etc that Maiden have written songs off of loosely. So please tell me what you've watched/read that Maiden has credited for their songs and what you thought.
I've read 7th Son of a 7th...
I find Maiden newbs often credit Bruce as "THE FACE OF MAIDEN", until they become more interested in reading song credits and see that without Harris there is no vision, no realization. Not to mention that Steve is one of the best bass players ever.
Well, I haven't got a ticket for Maiden, but if they announce at least one date in Canada there will be no limit to my ticket price. [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /]
Here's what I paid in the last few years all in Canadian...
Van Halen: $120(floor seats)
Children of Bodom: $35(pit)
Judas Priest: $80(floor seats)
Velvet Revolver: $80(pit)
Oh, well thats pretty cheap. I guess a $600 guitar would be a step up then. I just figure if you know you're serious about playing guitar, might as well get yourself a mid range one instead of graduating guitars several times.
I agree looks aren't everything, but it gives incentive to play your...
The difference is quality control. The more expensive American Strats have more time and care taken into their construction.
You might get fret buzz on the non-American ones for example, which would make chords sound bad. All Strats have bolt on necks, but an American Strat has better sustain...
I know they have to be upbeat about an upcoming album(and of course excited since its new material), but I always find it funny how things are always better than ever for every album. By now I should have thrown out BNW and DoD what with this "more groove than ever".

I think you forgot an...
I have only seen Maiden at Ozzfest last summer, but even if Bruce's voice didn't stack up to the studio recordings, the guitar playing beat every single live, studio and bootleg recording I ever heard when I was drunk/stoned/etc!
Up the Irons!
Different guitars yield different tones. The most common example being a Stratocaster which gives a bright, clean sound from its single coil pickups while a Les Paul gives you fat, smooth tone. I'm of the opinion that once you're running your guitar through a power amp, compressor, and whatever...
You need to pace yourself with strict guidelines when you discover a new band!
-Purchase of a new band's shirts must only occur once every three weeks
-Reading biography or detailed history on the band must be done at same pace it has occured I.E. to speak about Maiden in their Powerslave...
Worse than that, they only visited Montreal and Toronto which are practically next to each other. They really ought to have at least one gig on the westcoast at the largest venue they can find. Mind you they scheduled those concerts in between Ozzfest dates, so they didn't have that much liberty.
I can't remember the link, but there was some french site of Maiden tattoos with huge Live After Death across the chest. Pretty dedicated.
Myself, I think I'd do the Eddie from SiT! [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":)\" border=\"0\"...
Ignorant, non-Maiden obsessed oaf friend: Dude, you already showed me Rock in Rio AND The Early Days. How is it going to get any better?
*Put in DotR DVD*
*Watch a bit(especially guitarist focused solos(Rock in Rio needed that)).*
*Enlightened born again Maidenist*
