I dunno, sounds pretty intentional to me based on these recordings from San Antonio and Dallas- the entire band stops early and lets the last note ring out in unison while Bruce finishes his lines. If it was just Nicko making a mistake, how come they're ALL doing it?

No it wasn't. The entire band played it this way consistently until it was dropped a few shows in. If it was a mistake on Nicko's part, how come Steve and all three guitarists happened to make the exact same "mistake" at the same time?

Adrian added a harmony over the end of the verse sections in "Brighter Than A Thousand Suns" in 2007 (and possibly 2006? not sure)

I keep thinking of more! "Paschendale" was changed in 2010 so that the whole band dropped out leaving Bruce to sing the the lines "So that people know the truth, Tell the tale of Paschendale" by himself immediately before the middle section.

"Powerslave" had the original studio backing vocal harmonies added in the chorus in 2016-17, sampled and loaded into a keyboard and played by Michael Kenny. "TFF" and "El Dorado" had their ending and intro combined in 2011. "Wildest Dreams" had a "crash and burn" ending added in 2010, as did...

Because he's older, singing a lot of very lyrically dense songs they haven't played for a long time (or ever), and has (I believe) two replacement hips now.

We don't know what the full story is, and it's a completely different situation. With Blaze, he had multiple years and two full world tours to grow into the role of Iron Maiden frontman. It's pretty clear that by mid-1998, it just wasn't a good fit live. Yes, Nicko's playing is noticeably...

Not only is he 71, but he has arthritis and is a laryngeal cancer survivor. I think it's remarkable how well he and Bruce have aged, especially considering all they've been through.

+1. Nicko's drumming is already improving after only two gigs (as are the rest of the band's performances) - they will find their groove! They're not young and this is probably one of the most challenging setlists they've played in decades.

I think you're reading into Nicko's little joke a bit too much. It's just a little self-deprecating humor, because he has done a "new kit" video just about every year for the past few years, he's making light of Maiden's YouTube audience getting sick of hearing him talk about it.
