    Metallica

There's a fair bit of it, just like there's been on just about everything they've put out since Garage Inc. (which also had some, S&M had a ton, St. Anger being "raw" didn't, but on DM even the demos had the occasional use of autotune). It is pretty noticeable in the chorus to Lux Aeterna to the...

    AMOLAD tour memories and opinions

I would be pretty okay with them releasing the AMOLAD show that they have (I'm not actually entirely convinced the final form it took wasn't AMOLAD in full from '06 + the remaining Donington tracks as the bonus, rather than the other way around) as long as they also release the missing studio...

    Metallica

Nearly all of Metallica's songs are about death though. Die, death and dying appear literally over a hundred times in their lyrics. Thing is though, that's 12 tracks. If they cut it down to 8 like they used to in the record days, I think the overall length would also come around to being more...

Did he focking leave the band? FWIW I don't think Cliff's in the band anymore either...

    The Future Past tour 2023

Senjutsu isn't really a killer opening to anything, bar maybe the album its on. In a live setting I can't see it getting played again, especially not in a spot where you'd want a high-energy tune like the encore.

    Metallica

Kirk's already 60. He's the oldest in the band, being born in 1962 like Cliff rather than 1963 like James, Lars or Jason.

    Metallica

They're starting sales only offering two-day tickets to begin with, the single day tickets will only be available later. A bit of a dick move if you ask me, it's blatantly just a cash grab, same with the "experiences" they're offering (and have been for years now).

    Metallica

There's room for more weekend dates for the UK at least. I think their days of playing outside of weekends is done. This feels a lot like winding down the touring machine rather than a brave new start to a new era, going out with a gimmick and trying to sell two tickets at once. Considering the...

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

Didn't we actually see a version of the setlist when Davey was holding it up in a rehearsal photo? It was low quality but you could see the placement of Hallowed somewhere in the set, I forgot where exactly. TETMD is literally highlighted in that photo since it's selected in the cue list, it's...

What isolated track of any Maiden song would interest you the most?

Thanks to the magic of AI, CSiT isolated drums actually are a thing that exists on YouTube. Never did I ever think that this day would come since I always assumed being able to do this level of isolation to a mixed, mastered stereo track would just straight-up be impossible, but here it is. The...

    The Future Past tour 2023

This doesn't really hold up to scrutiny. If we take SAMURAI 5 - CYBORGS 5 as given then that maps out to five Senjutsu songs, five SiT songs and five classics since they'll most definitely play 15 songs, maybe 16 but probably not. There's straight-up no room for deep cuts, that's the whole SiT...

    Bruce Dickinson

That's real cool. Isn't the last time he's done Tears of the Dragon with Tribuzy in 2005? I'm eager to hear him do it in full live, God knows it's been too long.

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

I think the problem lies in that with Bruce, as of late, you're hard-pressed to just be a fan and ignore whatever his ass-backwards opinions are. Either they show up in his lyrics or he spouts off about them unprompted in an interview or he starts up the corona conspiracy rhetoric in Florida at...

LEGACY OF THE BEAST WORLD TOUR 2022 - **CONTAINS SPOILERS**

There's also the matter of "how do you top this?" They did the song with an inflatable fucking Spitfire hovering above them on stage, I don't think you really can make it any more special. It feels like a pretty good sendoff to one their best openers, even if on this last leg it kind of felt...

    The Future Past tour 2023

Do you people ever get tired of this nonsense? The poster was talking about a half-step. You make it sound like the suggestion is they should play songs in C standard or something. In fact, I'll say it outright: 95% of the audience wouldn't even notice it (other than, in this particular case...

    Your Maiden blasphemy

Everything on that album kind of sounds muddy, but personally I don't hate the sound. Powerslave in comparison is way too harsh and the excessive midrange gets even more annoying there.

    The Future Past tour 2023

I'm also a 100% certain they won't do it because it would be too costly and an insurer's worst nightmare. A lot of shit you could get away with in the 80s and 90s is expressly impossible to do these days because insurance companies aren't willing to eat the risk of somebody in the audience...

    Your Maiden blasphemy

Here's my recent and continuing blasphemy: despite everything, having just listened to it for the first time in God knows how long, Empire of the Clouds is and remains the best thing they've ever recorded. An 11/10 if there ever was one.

    The Future Past tour 2023

I think the more relevant statistic is that it was last played 14 years ago so it's absolutely a song they'd have to relearn, but it's entirely possible they already did that when it was up for consideration in 2018, meaning it'd be a lot easier than trying to learn Sea of Madness or something...
