Is it worth joining the fanclub?

As it happens a fan club newsletter was sent yesterday saying that the price is about to be dropped and that the physical magazines and free t shirt will be discontinued, although I don't think this price drop will come into effect before the upcoming presale.

Legacy Of The Beast Post-Pandemic Leg

My prediction - The cathedral world is swapped out for a Japanese castle, Senjutsu, Stratego, WotW replace Revelations, For the Greater Good of God, The Wicker Man - everything else remains the same (although I'd like to see some different deep cuts rotated in).

Legacy Of The Beast Post-Pandemic Leg

Based on the songs that Bruce has thrown into the mix in interviews I am expecting the title track, Stratego and Writing on the Wall this time around.

Legacy Of The Beast Post-Pandemic Leg

Great to hear that there will be a Senjutsu chunk added to the set and feeling more than a little jealous of those who get Trivium supporting, not least as their own UK tour recently got postponed to 2023!

    Steve Harris

I was at one of the shows a few days ago and there was very little visible on-stage equipment, however in the front row it's safe to say it was one of the loudest gigs I've been to in quite some time. I think it was second only to Motorhead in the volume department.

Honestly, I see this as quite in keeping with what we know of Steve's character, for better or for worse he is hard-headed and sticks to his guns. I can imagine him being told he had to test every day and just going 'load of bollocks mate, we'll do our own tour instead'.

    Unfavorable Iron Maiden album reviews

The thing to understand with many of these low-quality publications slating Maiden circa the BNW era is that they are trend jumpers rather than trend setters. Because it became fashionable to hate Maiden (and all old school metal for that matter) in the mid to late 90s, of course they had...

It is also possible that The Darkness wanted to maintain some sort of 'touring bubble' which would limit what the bands and crew members were allowed to do during the downtime outside of gigs and that Steve/BL were not happy with this. I have heard that some bands are taking this approach to try...

Legacy Of The Beast Post-Pandemic Leg

I distinctly remember reading this interview as well, I brought it up in another thread but couldn't recall the source. I am sure it was a newspaper interview and that it was before the release of Senjutsu.

Legacy Of The Beast Post-Pandemic Leg

My hope is that we will all be able to see a great Maiden show next year, until I see a post saying the tour has been cancelled I will go on believing!

Legacy Of The Beast Post-Pandemic Leg

Some guy on a Facebook page claiming he is a friend of a friend of Steve Harris is not a reliable source of information regarding Iron Maiden's future plans.

Legacy Of The Beast Post-Pandemic Leg

There is a great degree of extrapolation between British Lion pulling out of a support slot due to covid protocols and Steve splitting up the band due to not wanting the covid vaccine. Unless there is some more solid evidence in favour of this idea, saying things like this is just hyperbolic...

    Steve Harris

I think Steve just has a passion for playing live music. A British Lion tour can be cobbled together on short notice, doesn't require much investment or touring infrastructure and it gives him something to do and keeps him well practiced as a live musician during Maiden downtime.

Or, alternatively strongly ideologically opposed to the 'covid pass' idea perhaps? Just hypothesising but this view is shared by a lot of backbench MPs for instance who are otherwise advocates for the covid vaccination program. Having said that, is Tony Newton affiliated with BL in a touring...

You're quite right, my mistake - my geographical knowledge isn't quite up to par it seems, apologies to the Welsh for my ignorance!

The venues that I recognise on this list, including the Camden Underworld which I believe is the largest at 500 cap, do not require the NHS Covid Pass (double vax, recent infection and recovery or negative test within last 48 hours) - there are also no Scottish or Welsh dates (covid passes...

Some of these venues are extremely intimate, the one local to me is a 200 capacity hall with no barrier, I never thought I'd be able to see Steve perform in such a setting.

I get the impression that derogatory or at least unfounded assumptions are made about Steve sometimes, based on his perceived political views (or maybe just the lyrics to Age of Innocence?) Either way it's a shame.

I haven't unfortunately, I can't even remember if it was a written article or a video interview but I do distinctly remember Bruce saying (with regards to Maiden): 'We are all double vaccinated now anyway'. EDIT: It could be that I read the one Iron Lurker posted and had interpreted that to...

    Steve Harris

Bruce stated in one interview or another in the run-up to Senjutsu that the entire band were fully vaccinated and thus able to tour next year, I don't think there's any suggestion that Steve is an anti-vaxxer and to state that is speculation. Being opposed to vaccine mandates in order to...
