    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

Well, that's kind of the point of the ReAction figures. They're supposed to be poorly detailed for the sake of nostalgia--basically different brands, etc. done in the style of the old Kenner Star Wars figures. I have most of the figures Maiden has put out, but these ReAction ones are an easy...

New Single - The Writing on the Wall

I saw someone on a Maiden FB group whine: "doesn't sound like the old stuff." Isn't that the f**king point?!?!

New Single - The Writing on the Wall

Good song, but nothing super spectacular. I do love that it's different from the norm, with that jangly, Southern Rock style going on. Bruce isn't reaching out of his range on it, so I thought he sounded great. Only disappointment was that there wasn't an album title/release date reveal at the...

Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

SPAM...just goes to a book sales page. :nonono:

What type of Blaze-era Iron Maiden fan were you?

Listened (yet again) to Blaze's War Within Me and Tenth Dimension, and thought it was a shame we didn't have THAT Blaze on TXF and VXI. I know he said he learned a lot about using his voice in that style from Steve, but it's a shame he was still figuring things out on the Maiden albums. His...

What type of Blaze-era Iron Maiden fan were you?

I've always loved that version because of the "bounce" in the instrumental midsection that I haven't heard replicated in other versions. It still gets me every time I hear it. As for NotD, the band sounds incredible, especially Nicko on that album. Bruce's voice, however, makes it near...

What type of Blaze-era Iron Maiden fan were you?

I'm one of 'em that came aboard with ARLO as my first "new release" as a Maiden fan. It's easier to see the flaws nowadays than back then (Bruce sounds like he's going to fall asleep on ByYDTTS), although ARLO still has my favorite performance of FotD on it, and hey, I'll relisten to those...

What type of Blaze-era Iron Maiden fan were you?

Saying he "wanted to" is pushing it. He said several times with his divorce, he didn't know if he had it in him to push on. Dave did, though, give him the kick in the butt he needed.

Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

I don't agree with their approach, but right now it's kind of the only deduction to make. I agree with you that there's absolutely no problem with them being honest, just coming out and saying it that "hey, we have a new album, and we'll release it at a date to be determined sometime after...

Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

The secrecy is pretty simple: there's no point in teasing an album, showing the album art, tracklist, etc. when they have no idea when they're going to release the album...and they're not going to release the album until there's an acceptable window between the release and the album tour. Right...

Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

Sweet jeebus I would love for this to be true, but I won't be surprised when it isn't. The band are basically doing what they want at this point and they've earned the right to sit back and do nothing if they so choose. But, I'm always hungry for more Maiden, and it'll be a sad day indeed when...

    Blaze Bayley

I can't argue too much in what's been said in the last couple of pages. Blaze is clearly hungrier than Maiden these days (let's not grab the low hanging fruit of a weight joke with that, please), probably because he has to. I imagine he lives off his albums and tours, and certainly doesn't have...

    Blaze Bayley

I agree with pretty much everything you wrote here. I do consider Blaze to be a bit underrated, but only amongst the Maiden circles who wrote him off when he got fired because many of them are missing out. Those who tried his solo stuff and didn't like it, eh, fair enough, but his voice, limited...

    Bruce Dickinson

This video's the first time I've seen it dyed since it went gray and he left it that way. Maybe he was dyeing it before, but letting it go gray I think was the biggest thing that visually aged him. But to riff off of Perun's statement above, I've seen 63 year-olds in worse shape. I think we're...

    Bruce Dickinson

It was a bit of a rough video to watch. It's astonishing how quickly he's visually aged since the cancer diagnosis (of course, growing out his hair and choosing not to dye it doesn't help), and that quick aging seems to just keep on trucking.

    Bruce Dickinson

Wow, I actually really dug their cover of SBS. But then again, I've never been a Sabbath fan, so can't say one way or another if Bruce besmirched the original version or not. Considering Ozzy sang on the original, probably not.

    Blaze Bayley

Well, it does say in the video description that this was just a demo, so there's that. Curious if there was ever a final version released, or if the collaboration even got to that stage.

    Iron Maiden jigsaw puzzles

Looks like a third wave of puzzles is up for pre-order in some places. Seems they're filling out the main album category with Brave New World, Dance of Death, A Matter of Life and Death, Final Frontier, and then the single art for Stranger in a Strange Land. It'll be interesting to see if they...

    Legacy Of The Beast 2021

Which is probably why Maiden aren't just dumping the new album out there, because A) it won't make any money, and B ) it'll be irrelevant by the time Legacy 3 is over and they can tour it.

    Legacy Of The Beast 2021

I've sort of given up hope on the new Bruce album, to be honest. This downtime would've been the perfect time to finish and release it, because, as with Tyranny, he likely would be of the opinion touring the album would be unnecessary. And yet, crickets out of the Dickinson/Z camp ever since he...
