Maiden songs you are currently stuck on

same thing here, chartwell.... reading this thread has made me go back and re-evaluate some of the catalog.  My tastes remain pretty much the same, with one exception: The Thin Line Between Love and Hate.  Completely overlooked this tune till reading here, and now it's one of my most listened. ...

    NASA discovers Eddie?

hmm.  seems like I did it wrong or "insert picture" is not working for me.  Thanks NightProwler for hyperlinking it. To me the bright red star is Eddie's right eye forming, while the exposed brain portion of the Final Frontier Eddie is coalescing behind and above it.  Your mileage may vary...

    NASA discovers Eddie?

Here we see an image taken by NASA's wide field infrared explorer (WISE).  Is it just me or does it appear a proto-Eddie is forming across the light years here? Talk about epic. The Final Frontier, indeed. Or maybe my brain's been Maidenwashed to the point I see Eddie everywhere.  Cool pic...

First rock and first metal album you heard

Hard rock: STYX--- The Grand Illusion.  My parents had it on 8 track.  I can distinctly remember belting out "Come Sail Away" with my brother when I was about 8-9 years old.  I still absolutely love that album. Metal:  Quiet Riot--- Metal Health.  Cum On Feel The Noize... yeah.  People of a...

    Strange World

I give it 8/10.  Really great song when I'm in the mood for it, but I've got to be IN the mood.... its not one I casually listen to in the background, if you know what I mean. For what it's worth, I've always thought it as about doing drugs as well.  The line "girls drinking plasma wine" I...

    A Question about concert venues.

I did a little research, and I can't find anything that indicates Maiden had/has an exclusivity arrangement with Live Nation.  Indeed, White River Amphitheater in Auburn, Washington is not one of their venues and Maiden played there on both the Somewhere Back In Time and Final Frontier tours. ...

    Rush and Maiden basslines

It amazes me that anyone has the guts to submit videos of themselves to youtube to be scrutinized by the internet masses, so good on ya. I love watching other people interpret songs/artists I enjoy (as long as they are competently done, as yours are), so keep them coming!

    A Question about concert venues.

I'm no expert on the ins and outs of touring, but as far as I know, Maiden contracts through Live Nation here in the states, so they are obligated to use Live Nation owned/controlled venues.  Live Nation takes a lot of flack for some of their sub-par venues, but they do have a lot of them, so at...

Iron Maiden Survivor 2010 finished: Hallowed remains champion

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor 2010: FINAL BATTLE: Hallowed vs Rime II (Dec 22-23) In my opinion, Hallowed is great from start to finish, but the section beginning with "then down in falls comes the rain" in Rime is one of the most orgasmic culminations in all of musicdom.  Therefore, Hallowed gets...

    Rush and Maiden basslines

Nice straightforward, competent covers.  They seem to be lacking something to me, though.  Groove? Feel? Compare yours side by side with hyottoko1's covers, for example.  His just seem to have some extra oomph and personality thrown in.  Much better than most I've seen, at any rate, and worth...

What Iron Maiden song you heard first?

It's hard to remember, but I believe it was Lonelieness of the Long Distance Runner.  My friend who intruced me to Maiden was a distance runner and he loved that song...... btw, Maidenhead, what prompted you to search for "Iron Maiden" on Youtube in the firstplace?  Just curious.

    Total Guitar Covers

Um, yeah, Dave does look a little slimmer in the body than he does the face in that photo.  He's either slimmed down since I saw them in June or there's some photoshop or favorable camera angle going on there.  No tabs?  That kinda sucks.  I thought 14 dollars was a bit much myself, but I still...

    Total Guitar Covers

I was in my local Borders bookshop today and was looking at magazines.  Total Guitar is running full picture covers of Dave, Adrian, Janick or all three together (4 different covers), with tabs to "The Final Frontier's Greatest Riffs" inside.  I thought it was interesting that of the four left...

    Maiden Grammy 2011

At least the Grammys aknowlege metal as a genre by having the "Best Metal Performance" category.  It seems kind of silly to have this, though, not have a "Best Metal Album" category also.  Look at some of the other nitpicky genre album categories that are given awards.  It's kind of a slight to...
