We've had NP wars in the chatroom ever since the first two people (Freaky and LooseCannon, if I remember correctly) had NP tags. But what began as a normal, civilised NP war tonight became an unusually violent and breathtakingly bloody world war. When it was finally over, nobody could determine who had actually won it. Everybody nominated someone else, and we finally came to the conclusion that we had to ask you, fellow board members, to vote for who won. What follows is the entire playlist, colour-coded so you can easily recognise which track was played by which member.
I opted to exclude Forostar and Maidenfreak from the list, because the former left very soon and the latter entered very late. Invader also left after a while, but he was actively participating for quite a while, so I think it's fair to leave him in.

In these kind of wars, you can only generate the applause machine when an oldie is played, which took away some of the fun for me.

My tip to someone who wants to join this war:
Throw in OLD songs (just get a dusty encyclopedia, or type in bandnames on internet: you don't even need to know the tracks to realize how famous they are) and then you'll make a chance to be heard, and perhaps even to win.

Either keep throwing in newer songs and try to be happy with the lack of replies! ;)

BTW: I played 7th Son!  :)

I still stand by my vote to SMX. I had a good feeling he won reading through the War Log, but his breakdown by warrior confirmed it... he beat you tards into submission.

We almost had Perun there.  Then he dropped Brighter Than A Thousand Suns.  Bastards.

SMX played Creeping Death - that song is the very best song played by anyone at any time (aside from one or two Maiden songs).

But not enough album plays for my liking. :D

For the record, I'll just say that I was at a disadvantage, as I only have a few albums loaded onto PC, I practically played everything I could.

So vote me! :D

Pray explain something to an np-noob: on what criteria are we to vote for a winner? In other words, how am I to decide who the hell is the winner in this contest? Song volume? I always prefer quality to quantity... What basis for winning? Oh, and what does the winner recieve? I might not want to award the wrong person something nice :innocent: :p

It was over by the time SMX threw in Hallowed Be Thy Name.  We should form a UN (United NP-Warriors) that bans such harsh weapons. :D

Oh, and yes, SMX won.  You can't fight the greatest song in the world, period.

I already explained this. :)

AND Keeper of the Seven Keys, bold move by an atheist :p

I voted for LC cuz his songs were the ones I recognized the most, plus he played Pasch!

But on SMX's end, he played Freewill and YYZ, 2 Rush classics!

Char, you like UFO? My hubby just LOVES them, esp. cuz Michael Schenker was part of them back in like...1979-80 or something? I'm surprised NO ONE played any Scorpions...

Yes PG, your hubby and I like the same music.  When you were telling me what you got him for Xmas, I was wishing you were my wife.  Just kidding.  Lets see if my daughter pulls through for me this Xmas?

I knew you were going to vote for LC, PG.  He was my second choice. :ok:
