The first one is legendary and I would pick it over most songs in the tournament but it got paired up with one of my favourite instrumentals of all time so I'll go with Voice of the Soul.

Contact Lost.
Atom Heart Mother just gets me yawning.

Was the Dick Dale track "legendary" before it was featured in Pulp Fiction? I honestly don't know. Either way, it sounds cooler than the Death track, which is still good. 89

Almost impossible to compare an 90-second track to a 23-minute track, it's really apples to oranges. The former is a short, plaintive elegy for the Space Shuttle astronauts, and the other is an epic symphonic work. It's like comparing a short story to a full-length novel. I'll go with 92 because it is more ambitious and because David Gilmour's playing is more even soulful and beautiful that Steve Morse's soulful and beautiful playing.

That Death album is one of my all time favorites, but that song has nothing on Miserlou.

Between David Gilmour and Steve Morse I much prefer Morse. But I went Atom Heart Mother.

According to wikipedia, the Dick Dale version of Misirlou was the definitive version of the song in the 60s, and that the original dates back to 1927 and is a Greek composition. It was also stated that it has been hugely popular ever since the Dick Dale version was released with hundreds of covers and that Pulp Fiction only solidified it's Legendary status.

Dick Dale played a tiny pub in a obscure little town near where I live a couple years ago, so did Johnny Winter.
Strange where some of these guys end up.
Missed the show, but my friend said Dale kicked ass.
Misirlou is cool, but I'm still voting Death.

Purple in the second one. Great feel. The Floyd is just too boring.

89 is one of these tracks that stick with you from the first time you hear them. It's really cool, but it stopped being exciting 15 years ago. I really enjoyed Voice of the Soul, though, so I voted Death.

In the second pair I chose Purple because the track is solid and enjoyable on the one hand, while on the other, it's up against Floyd, and Floyd at its worst nightmarish boredom at that.
