As usual, vote for your favourite. Winner moves on, loser goes home.

In the blue corner, hand-picked by legendary vocalist Ronnie James Dio, weighing in with 10 albums of classic metal power

In the red corner, from Los Angeles California, weighing in with 14 albums that married the shock rock theatrics of Alice Cooper with the sleaze of the LA glam metal scene before taking a more serious turn

I thought you might be isolated in this Crimmers. :p

I'm not sure which I want to vote for.... I listen to all of Dio (even the albums that aren't so liked) whereas there are some WASP albums I don't listen to at all, but in terms of pure quantity there is the same amount of favourites for both bands, and WASP has my favourite album.

Just would've liked to see WASP go a liiiiiittle further than this lol, although I guess I should be pleased they even made it to this point.

This is my favourite Dio song @Saapanael. I am curious how you like the build-up and mood.
Dio is fabulous in it. He is totally into it. The solo rules, check those cool last notes. I find Vivian Campbell's lead guitar quite original. He takes cool -sometimes unexpected- paths in his solos, but always keeps that brilliant melodic side to it. Jimmy Bain's bass is strong and melodic at the same time (when you focus on it you can hear some cool patterns!), interlocking with Vinnie Appice into the perfect rhythm section. Schnell's keyboards are the perfect adding touch, giving a warm haunting sound to it all.

Personal highlight: I absolutely love the melody near the end, probably in my top 3 of all time when it comes to haunting guitar melodies in hard rock/heavy metal: it starts at 5:15. It's not fast, it even might sound simple (it is!) but the notes and speed perfectly fit the chords. They form a dramatic layer over Dio's soaring vocals. I especially love the last two notes in every segment, going down. I'd be curious how Adrian would sound if he'd play these. Probably not that different. Imagine Maiden doing this as a tribute to Ronnie.... wow... *melts with this thought* I can see Bruce putting it of when he has a good day. ;-)
