The Trooper VIP Pre Party or First to the Barrier ... " WHICH ONE IS BETTER"

awesome Bear! He will love it. (hey son, you will be taking over my business some day... there ya go, WRITTEN OFF!) lol Hit me up bear, would love to share a cold one with ya. (and we are roughly same age) I wonder if we will get to try the red and the black or Trooper 666! I can't get my hands on either of those beers!

Sounds good, I'll IM you when we get close to the show

Did everybody get their Trooper VIP details email? coming up! We went to OKC last night and it was AWESOME SHOW! Lil different set list, and so worth the drive. 4:30 is WAY TOO EARLY to start the party! But that is the time...

I didn't goto the VIP deal yesterday. I am doing that Friday in Dallas (and going to the San Antonio show, but didn't do VIP for that either) Just one VIP a tour is fine with me. they give all the same stuff i already have. I just wanted to celebrate since it is my birthday. I did look around for the VIP party, but we got in after Ghost was offstage so i assume the VIP was already done for the night.

I'll see you at the VIP thing Friday .. I'll be the guy in the Maiden shirt :)

Well shit fuck holes! Nope, not for us... we can't make it. The VIP is 4:30 to like 6 when they open the doors. We have to drop the kids off (at the pool-HAHA!) at 6PM in Southlake. Then head down there. So we will miss the Party, so i had them switch my VIP over to San Antonio, So my buddy Scott and I will do that instead. SO Bearfan, unless you are still at the VIP party when I roll in at 7ish, i may not see ya. But i have to go by the VIP party deal to say hi to my girl Kim and let her know we will be seeing her Saturday in San Antonio. So i can have a beer with you guys then. (i know, screwed up) Can't stand concerts during the weekday. But Bear, you can always meet my bro Scott Beetley. He is the bigger guy in the Maiden shirt. LOL! He looks like this (without the cat photo-CHOPPED on his head) upload_2017-6-22_13-6-28.png

I did the VIP thing in Dallas .. some thoughts

1) They were really organized, getting your swag, getting in, the drawings, the food, etc ... it is certainly not half assed
2) Kim was actually really nice and probably the reason why it is so organized.
3) The food was good, it was snack stuff and I am sure it varies by venue, but the little grilled cheese sandwiches and Beef Wellington bites were good, plus the usual snack stuff (nuts, chips, etc) ... that with the 2 beers were good. I would not call it dinner, but I was good food-wise for the night.
4) The bag the swag came in was cool, nice t-shirt, I'll use the coasters in my office, nice flag .. nothing seemed cheap.
5) I was able to walk up to the merch stand and make my t-shirt purchase within 30 seconds, that was really nice
6) They let the fan club people on the floor first, then us, then the Ghost people. We got to within 3 people behind the barrier and about 10-15 feet off center. If they goal is to be on the barrier dead center, then first to the barrier is better. There were two of us and there was enough of a delay between when we got there to when they opened the gates to stake a claim on a spot, take turns going to hit the head and grab a drink .. that was a plus and would apply to first to the barrier as well.
7) Varies by venue, but they had it in a really nice place in the American Airlines Center, basically the bar you get into if you have really expensive season tickets for the Stars or Mavericks overlooking the Mavs practice court and weight room. They decked it out with some Maiden stuff and were playing Maiden on shuffle .. we heard mostly stuff from AMOLAD, DoD, and TFF.

Overall good experience, I do not feel ripped off. I would not do this every show and probably only for a show I was sitting on the floor (or if they do it in Mandalay Bay again to avoid the hour long t-shirt line). Overall you can see an effort was there to make it nice and the people running it were friendly, helpful, and knew what they were doing.

There were two drawings, a set of "Ed phones" signed by Steve and a Nicko signed Drum head. Sadly, I won neither.

Pro tip .. if you wear a belt, you can use that to hold the bag during the show.

I'm just curious what you mean by the Ghost people. Do they have some sort of fanclub thing too?

Yeah .. they had their own VIP party deal in a different room

Edit: I should add .. different venues may (or may not) do things differently ... this is what they did in Dallas. I assume it is probably similar anywhere

So, yeah... what a great 3 nights. But we couldn't do the VIP Trooper party in Dallas, but did make the San Antonio venue for that. KIM was amaze balls. She is awesome. I can't suggest this enough to any Maiden fan attending these last few shows. It is SO worth it. (Even though the ticket swipe there in SA was a shit show, what a cluster fuck!) And they ran out of food REAL quick. (they got us some chicken later though which was cool) But yeah, like Bear said above, they escorted us right in to the floor WAY before the doors even opened, we were 2 back and stayed there the whole time. AND MY MONKEYS WERE THE HIT IN DALLAS AND SA. (i bought some blow up monkeys on amazon, and chunked them into the audience during Death or Glory!) it was the highlight of the show for some kids as they got "monkeys to go" it really was special (even though i almost got kicked out in dallas, SO WORTH IT) hahahaha. But everyone keep telling Kim that CHAD said HI! (she told me there were some peeps in UK that even told her HI from me...) MAN, DO I LOVE YOU GUYS! lol... (and her assistant, the other blonde--- OH MAN! ) what a 8.95 she was! LOL... really pretty. But anyway, GO TELL KIM CHAD SAID HI! HAHAHA Video of Dallas. here is a better one: The other ones are out there as well. https://www.facebook.com/chad.litersky/posts/1453413741363457?pnref=story
