Maidens debut album - on Bass

Welsh Phantom

Ancient Mariner
Hi guys,

I posted a couple of these videos a while back, but thought I should put them together as a complete collection. These are my covers of the debut album, using my Fender Steve Harris signature Precision Bass.

Any comments welcome....thanks for watching! :)

Nice job! What's your full setup?

Cheers mate. Thanks for watching.

My board consists of a Tech 21 Programmable Sansamp (an amazing pre amp....thoroughly recommended!), A Trace Elliot Dual Band Compressor, and a Boss stage tuner...all looped through a Boss Noise suppressor, fed into the Trace Elliot 715 1x15 combo.

Obviously I used the Steve Harris bass here, but I normally play a US Fender Jazz or a 4003 Rickenbacker. I actually only ever use the Precision for Maiden covers. And yes, I am a self confessed fanboy when it comes to Mr. Harris LOL :)

I've been following you on YT for quite awhile, didn't know you were on the forum. Great covers! I hope to be on your level eventually. Have you kept the Rotosound strings on?

Yes, I use the Steve Harris flatwounds on this particular bass (I use rotosound roundwoumd swing bass strings on my other basses). I had the precision for Maiden specifically, so will always keep the flatwounds on it.

Thank you for watching mate ;)
