Great Job SMX  :ok:

If someone is going to have the last word in this long dorment/should be dead thread its gonna be me. I'm not the this forum's thread killer for nothing and might as well lay to rest one of my own...

Actually, I've deleted most of those. I only saved the best 20-30ish out of each top 100. So that only accounts for about 1000 songs.

Sorry, turns out that count is a slight exaggeration. I just had Winamp count them again, and I only have 17,561 songs.

I just bought their first one, the phantom agony, good stuff. Well I've purchased so many cd's this summer both legally and illegally... I have enough music for like the next 8 months or so. I will definately check that one out though.

I downloaded that album a few days back, haven't listened to it too well though. But my initial impression was that it was pretty good.  :)  Not that I have much experience with this sub genre, my only other album of this sort being After Forever's  "Decipher".

Glad you like it. Seems like a good start! I'm curious if the album will be for sale in Indian record shops.

I believe it was Mr. Cannon that told me you had 19,000 songs...he was the one who exaggerated  :p

I doubt it. At least in my city. There is like one shop in the whole city where I might get it. I saw a Deicide album there a few weeks back.  :bigsmile: So there is still some hope for lesser known metal bands in India  B)

What a list ! A interesting list, indeed...

In another music, there are Jean-Michel Jarre' songs what I love a lot !
For informations :

-> "Revolutions"    44'24
-> "Oxygene"        39'05
-> "Equinoxe"        36'25
-> "Rendez-Vous"  35'04

Relaxing times... :halo:

"Oxygene" is six tracks, really. I don't think it's been released in any other way.

Speaking of lengthy electronic tracks, many Tangerine Dream songs push the limits in that direction. Of the ones I have, "Phaedra", "Force Majeure" and "Sphinx Lightning" all approach 20 minutes, and if we count songs that, like "Thick as a Brick", were only split in two because of technical limitations, "Rubycon" and "Tangram" clock in at 34.54 and 40.27 respectively.

I don't really agree with you on some points...

Jean-Michel Jarre composed "Oxygene" as one song. It should be consider as ONE song ! But, as it was new at this time, he has to divide his one song in 6 parts to returns to a "normal" things...

But, for me, all these songs aren't many songs in one but only one song.

I hope we will understand what I mean... ;)

Perhaps they can be considered similar to movements in classical music, pieces which are self-contained but form a larger whole when put together. But let's not argue over technicalities, it's a great album and that's all that matters really.

I agree too...

..but I was afraid (to shoot strangers !  :lol: sorry...) that my point of view was hard to understand...

But it's only another point of view about a point of view... :halo:
