I couldn't find a topic of this so i'm gonna do it, I also want to know your favorites to least favorites.

My favorite Maiden albums are in this order:

    1. The X Factor
    2. Brave New World
    3. Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
    4. A Matter Of Life And Death
    5. Somewhere In Time
    6. Virtual XI
    7. Fear Of The Dark
    8. Powerslave
    9. No Prayer For The Dying

    11. The Final Frontier
    12. Dance Of Death
    13. The Number Of The Beast
    14. Killers
    15. Iron Maiden

Note: even though the last two albums are the Di'anno ones, it doesn't mean I don't like or enjoy them, they are awesome master pieces, containing my favorite instrumentals and some of my favorite songs, I just don't like the albums as a whole as I do with the other ones.

God dammit I hate these. So difficult.

    1. Brave New World (Every track a home run. Great upbeat, fresh feeling to it).
    2. Somewhere In Time (No bad tracks, a hair better than #3)
    3. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (Maybe I've heard it too many times that I place it behind #2)
    4. A Matter of Life And Death (Musically their most complex and deep work IMO)
    5. The Final Frontier (Great, but as an album suffers from pacing issues)
    6. Dance of Death (One or two tracks are a little half-baked)
    7. Powerslave (Great songs, but the sound isn't brilliant to my ears)
    8. Iron Maiden (Obvious production issues, but songs are great)
    9. Number of the Beast (Heard RttH and NotB far too many times now)
    10. Piece of Mind (Guitars sound thin)
11.Killers (Love it, but no songs go above say, a 8/10)
    12. No Prayer For the Dying (same as Killers, but inferior sounding)
    13. X-Factor (Gloomy, and a fair bit of filler)
    14. Fear of the Dark (Filler, lots of)
    15. Virtual XI (Hate to do this, because The Clansman rocks)

    2. A Matter of Life and Death 9,0
    3. Iron Maiden 8,8
    4. The Number of the Beast 8,7
    5. Killers 8,5
    6. Piece of Mind 8,4
    6. Powerslave 8,4

    13. No Prayer for the Dying 7,0
    14. The X Factor 6,6
    15. Fear of the Dark 6,2

If I had to pick an order off the top of my head, I think I would select differently, but I doubt I would move anything more than a slot or two.

Here's my list as of today

    1.  Piece of Mind- the amazing songs are incredible and the decent songs are still pretty good
    2.  Seventh Son of a Seventh Son- nearly perfect
    3.  The Number of the Beast- even though most of this is overplayed I still love it
    4.  Somewhere in Time- unique vibe and songs even though HCW sorta brings it down
    5.  Iron Maiden- any album with Phantom of the Opera on it rules
    6.  Killers- not quite as good as the debut but still pretty incredible
    7.  Powerslave- their weakest 80s album
    8.  A Matter of Life and Death- best album with the current lineup
    9.  The Final Frontier- a bit more varied than AMOLAD but not quite as good
    10.  Dance of Death- some great some not so great
    11.  The X Factor- pretty good overall but I really need to be in the mood to listen to this in order to enjoy it
    12.  Brave New World- for the most part overrated especially after the first 4 songs
    13.  No Prayer For the Dying- my first Maiden album and pretty good even if inconsistent
    14.  Fear of the Dark- 5 great songs including the title track
    15.  Virtual XI- 2 OK songs, 6 bad ones

  12. The Flash

The Flash Dennis Wilcock did 9/11

    1. Somewhere in Time [Only average song is Heaven Can Wait and is also good. Has 3 masterpieces (CSIT, SIASL, ATG) and feels good as an album, my favourite album of all time]
    2. Powerslave [I don't see songs like Losfer Words, Back in the Village as fillers. Has 2 masterpieces (ROTAM, P'slave) and one fantastic song. (Midnight)]
    3. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son [A fantastic concept album with 4 masterpieces. (ID, TETMD, SSOASS, Clairvoyant) but also has a bad song and a fillerish song.]
    4. The Final Frontier [It has the best album feeling. Just runs off. Has one masterpiece (Starblind) and a lot of great songs.]
    5. Piece of Mind [Best guitar tone and the most complete songs are in this album.]
    6. Brave New World [Great feeling, great songs. Doesn't have a masterpiece but has a ton of great songs.]
    7. A Matter of Life and Death [Paints the scene perfectly and represents its theme well.]
    8. The Number of the Beast [Has two masterpieces (HBTN, COTD) and pretty good songs but doesn't feel as an album, just a shuffle of songs]
    9. The X Factor [Most underrated Maiden album, one masterpiece (SOTC) and no fillers.]
    10. Iron Maiden [One masterpiece (POTO) good songs, some fillers but has a special quality.]
    11. Dance of Death [Worst Reunion album because of its fillers. Two masterpieces (PFD, DOD)]
    12. Virtual XI [Absolutely not the worst Maiden album is great. I'd give it 4 out of 5. No masterpieces, one bad song but a lot of good songs.]
    13. Killers [Has fillers and no masterpieces but also feels special.]
    14. No Prayer for the Dying [No masterpieces, some very good songs, some average songs and two very bad songs.]
    15. Fear of the Dark [Only Maiden album that I'd give 2 out of 5. No masterpieces, two fantastic songs, three decent songs but the rest is pretty bad.]

    This is a difficult task...

My all time favourite Iron Maiden album is Live After Death, obviously it can't be included in the list as we're dealing with studio efforts only...

    Powerslave
    Somewhere In Time
    The Number Of The Beast
    Piece Of Mind
    Iron Maiden
    Brave New World
Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
A Matter Of Life And Death
    The Final Frontier
    Dance Of Death
    Killers
    Fear Of The Dark
    The X Factor
    No Prayer For The Dying
    Virtual IX

I don't think any of the albums are particularly bad, some are just better than others.
