Campaign 1: Orc Battalion, Battle 1: Galloglass vs Grave Digger

Galloglass - Remember the Fire

According to metal-archives.com, they "originally spelled their name Gallowglass, but changed the spelling to Galloglass before their first full-length." No explanation given, not even any speculation why this would make sense. Then again, this is not exactly the thinking man's band. Or is it?

Grave Digger - Highland Farewell

Another heavyweight. This band is so big and successful that you sometimes overlook not just how awfully cheesy their image is, but how truly atrocious their lyrics sometimes are... although you'd be forgiven for not catching them over Chris Boltendahl's accent. Also, is Scotland the cheesiest country ever?

Grave Digger is so damn cheesy. Though gotta give them credit for making a relatively good career with such horrible vocals.

If you press play on both videos at the same time, you really have something. But yeah, Grave Digger

Galloglass is perfectly acceptable cheese. It's a cheddar.

But Grave Digger is fucking awesomely awful. The intro alone outcheeses all of Galloglass's song.

Grave Digger walks that fine line between being a stinky cheesy and a creamy cheese, and certainly wins this battle no matter what.

Grave Digger take the Tartan Metal crown. They should appear on boxes of shortbread in tourist information offices in Edinburgh.

I just showed a Scottish work colleague this video and he said it was 'deeply disturbing'.
