Climbing like a monkey out of hell
Judging by Bruce's hint in the recent Eddie Trunk interview, Maiden is going to be in the New York metropolitan area sometime in mid-April of next year. I will be going, hell or high water. I'm pretty heavily into photography and I think it'd be cool to capture some of the atmosphere outside the arena, and maybe even inside. However, there's not a chance I'm "checking in" two grand of gear with security.
What are the chances I could get a DSLR into Madison Square Garden or a similar arena? The rules on their website are vague. Has anyone on the forum tried to photograph or videotape a concert with semipro equipment? In case you're wondering, this wouldn't be some amateur hour video. Upon tour date announcements, I'm going to scout locations outside the venue via google maps. It would probably be a mix of time lapse and real time shots, but the planning will come in the next few months. Thanks.
