I've heard a lot of Maiden covers over the years but i have to say that these 2 are right up the top of my list......and the video's are fantastic. I'd luv to see maiden do a video like this someday.

The Trooper.

2 Minutes To Midnight.

Let me know what you guys think...these guys really went to a lot of effort to record and make these videos.

If you want to look at the rest of these guys cover versions and originals then click on these links below. They've done a lot of good videos from many different metal and rock bands.

Number of the Beast by Zwan.

I don't have a link to it, but it's from the opening montage in the movie, "Spun" which stars Jason Schwartzman as this crazy tweaker.

Very mellow, acoustic take, completely unexpected.

Acoustic cover, interesting song to pick for such an exercise:

Trivium - Iron Maiden

One guy doing The Aftermath & Edge of Darkness all by himself?
Easily the best I've ever heard by one person. Very impressive. I doubt if the drums are real though. :shred:

The drummer isn't the most stable guy in the first seconds of the start of the rhythm in The Trooper but this is very enjoyable to watch and to listen to as well (especially if these guys played their stuff in different parts of the world).    :ok:

Flight of Icarus with Ripper Owens! The guitar playing is a bit dull though, and the production is pretty awful.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8OT2HoM ... re=related that one? This laptops not got great sound quality (even with headphones) but I quite like it. I really like Doug Aldrich as a guitarist aswell (solo and Dio stuff), and Ripper Owens (Demolition/Jugulator were awesome!)

Apologies if any of the other links have been posted.. I checked some of them but there's a fair few :p

Some of the best maiden covers I've got are on that album:
RTTH with Schenker: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKvKR4-l3lc
Wasted Years with Dee Snider: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-FY-hrzYtM
Evil that Men do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTgOvv2g ... re=related - Not a fan of Chris Jericho's vocal work but I love Paul Gilbert.

Alexander the Great http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7qLFPwynF8 It's a little heavy over the instrumental section, but it's a damn good cover, done by Eleventh Hour (Only person I know who is in it is Patrick Lachmann from Damageplan/Halford).

Not looked for a link for it, but Sonata Artica's cover of die with your boots on was pretty decent from what I remember.

Not a maiden cover but I don't think it warrants its own topic...  worth listening for Bruce's lyrics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6Ufu-8N ... re=related also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muqnSmll ... re=related

Hey nice. Recorded in Holland (Giel Beelen is one of the most popular DJ's out here). I find it a very nice and unexpected combination of a famous artist paying tribute to a famous metal band.

I'd say so. Naturally, it depends on what you'd call famous, but I don't expect every Maidenfans forum member to know him (or to know every famous artist ;-), since he's more into alternative rock / country. I have heard from him via a collegue but don't own any material.

His second album (from 2001) is his best-selling album, certifying gold in the UK and going on to sell 364,000 copies in the U.S. and 812,000 worldwide.

In 2010 he made a metal influenced album, which came as a surprise. But after this clip it's a bit more obvious to me. :) More here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Adams

I always enjoyed his covers. Though they're not amazing and the recording quality is really low on some of the earlier ones, I still find them enjoyable. It's also a big project, he's been working on every single Maiden song. But he has slowed down a lot the past few years, unfortunately.

Machine Men - Aces High
They also covers 1 or 2 Bruce tracks ( hence their band name)

Great band on their own as well.

Can't post links since I'm on my phone but i'd check them out

I've got 2 CDs of iron maiden covers, both are superb.

One was free with kerrap magazine a few years ago with full bands covering stuff from all eras. Had some brilliant stuff on there. Metallica's cover of remember tomorrow was great as was machine heads cover of hallowed be thy name. To take a land by Dream theater was also a highlight.

The all star tribute to maiden was also great. Hearing Lemmy singing the trooper was cool as was chuck billy doing fear of the dark.

Nearly forgot but I have the official bootleg cd dream theater were selling on their website years back where they covered the whole number of the beast album live. Very cool.
