I have listened to it properly tour times, and I'm still taking it all in. I'm really impressed with it, great stuff. The one consistent thing I have noted is I always get the goosebumps at the same part every time, and that's the heavy breakaway part in the title track. Superb.
There was some chat earlier about a possible second single, and I thought I had seen a mention that Tears of a Clown would be it. Anyway, in my search I came across a site stating it had the lyrics for it, no idea if they are real. Er, not sure ow to do spoilers, but do a Google search and you...
I'm curious, this is a message to my fellow Maiden lovers who have been disappointed by The Speed of Light. Has disliking the song made your anticipation for The Book of Souls drop sharply, or are you still looking forward to the album? :hello:
Whatever the opinions I do think the production is as discussed by the group in interviews. It feels ‘live’ with just a few little effects tweaks here and there .

A fine song. A heavy aroma of Deep Purple and a whiff of Metallica, my only slight frown being the little guitar run under the bridge which distracted me a little. But a minor quibble as the chorus nestles in my brain and will be there for a long time to come. :shred:
