My band just released a new single, the first off our upcoming Star Wars concept album.

One of our songs just made it onto American radio for the first time. It was picked up by a Seattle based station, against all odds because it's 9 minutes long and none of us are from Seattle.

So the new album is out and it's their strongest to date in my heavily biased opinion. This one and the single above are probably the highlights for me.

The new Gloryhammer single just dropped with a really fun video to go with it. Absolute earworm of a chorus.

I think it's pretty solid. Starts off mostly very strong but tapers off a bit at the end. I'd say One More Flag in the Ground is the only real weak point. The Great Divide and The Looking Glass are some of their best in years. For their Karevik albums I'd put it above Shadow Theory but below...

A huge step up from from One More Flag in the Ground in my opinion. Tommy is really playing to his strengths here, more going on musically, and far more interesting lyrically. Makes me slightly more optimistic about the upcoming album.

So here's Thomas with his own dollar store Gloryhammer. The sheer ridiculous of this makes Gloryhammer look restrained by comparison.

Yeah, this is doubling down on all my issues with Shadow Theory. Promising intro, solid verses, and then a nothing a of a chorus. I remember when Youngblood and Khan were the gold standard in power metal songwriting.

My band recently put out a new single based on the book of the same name. Next year's big project will be a Star Wars concept EP about the Mandalorian Wars.

Fellowship's debut album just dropped. I suspect they're going to be the next big thing in power metal. They go hard on the sincere, super-uplifting side of the genre in a way that makes a nice counterpoint to all meme bands that are gaining popularity in power metal.

So the reality is imitating the meme now. Thomas is calling himself Angus McSix and it looks like his new band is going to be some kind of Gloryhammer spinoff.

I guarantee that the band is taking that review as a badge of honor. I wouldn't even put it past Chris to put Charmless Dickwaddle on his business card. Personally I have mixed feelings about the album. The good songs are on par with the best of any other album, but the pisstake songs this time...

The new Seventh Wonder album has immediately shot to first place for me so far.

In happier news, it's good to see Stu back in Into Eternity. Everyone I know who went to Hyperspace Festival had nothing but good things to say about him and the band.

Looks like Thomas is putting together another band right now based on a recent Instagram post. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Sozos is one of my bandmates in another project so I'm too biased to comment on who's the better singer, but here's what I'll say. Thomas has a really unique voice that fits the band, but he didn't get any formal training or learn how to take good care of it. And it really showed on his last...

While I'm glad Maiden got the recognition, it doesn't change my opinion of the Grammies in the slightest. I guarantee you whatever committee chose El Dorado didn't know or care if it was any good; it was a carefully chosen for the best combination of credibility and mass appeal.
