Yes, 100%. Alongside “Judas Rising” they are the three moments where the record really delivers what they’re trying to sell you. There are good moments on that album but they don’t often knock it out of the part. These three definitely do.
Where did he say he was using a screen? The last thing I read he was going on about how this would be a return to the ‘70s style of stage production, stripped-down and all about the music.
Evoken is back! “The Wizard” is a great early Sabbath song but I don’t think it’s one of those that belongs in the game per se. Bring out the funeral doom heads like last time and help me spread darkness across the forum.
Thing is, “King in Crimson” has one of my all-time favorite solo sections so a part of me selfishly just wants to hear Roy and Adrian do it lol. But I think if Chris did Roy’s solo and Philip did H’s it could work. Chris seems more like a shredder whereas Philip is a bit more meticulous...
I've watched the entire Friday gig plus the three new songs from yesterday on YouTube and I am just... flabbergasted and excited and jealous. I really didn't know what to expect from Bruce's solo career resurrection and was almost worried it would limp instead of run. My god they are on fire...
It's absolutely metal. You mean to tell me on an Iron Maiden forum that that twin guitar riff isn't fucking metal? Go snoop down a junkyard bongo, Detective, your badge has been revoked.
The vinyl is cool but I love the CD packaging. I don't really care about the Mandrake comic but its inclusion in the package takes me right back to my childhood libraries.
Yeah but "full" sounds better in the song. It kind of bothered me at first but nowadays I look at it like, Bruce isn't preaching about good intentions, he's telling a story. The road to hell is off to the wayside and full of good intentions that led us to this shitshow.
By “classic” I was thinking of Divine Wings through Odyssey, but yeah “Lesson” is definitely the weakest otherwise. I like “Looking Glass”, but it doesn’t really grip me the way their best stuff does. I think that of most of Twilight in Olympus though.
