The Guitar Players Thread - Help each other play Maiden songs

I thank you both for your input. I'll take your advice into my playing. I hope to write a more lengthy response sometime later, but I can't promise anything.

The Guitar Players Thread - Help each other play Maiden songs

I figured I'd make some kind of 'official' thread where guitar players can ask for help in transcribing and playing Maiden songs. It would be great if this helps us grow a sense of larger guitar playing community so we can get help faster with learning the songs we want to play. I found out...

Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

Yes I'm aware of the guitarists using those solid state amps on SIT. I meant something along the lines of "nearly his entire career". Why don't they just release a Marshall signature series then? I think it's bullshit to make a signature series on something that doesn't fit the definition of...

Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

Dave has used Marshall amps his entire career. How would they justify calling a Victory amp a signature amp when all his classic signature sounds came from Marshall amps?

What unconventional song would you like to see Iron Maiden doing a cover?

Their cover of Doctor Doctor with Blaze sounds like it's their own song.

Who are your Top 5 guitarists of all time

I'm just gonna make a list of 5 guitarist I have the most respect for. Number 3 and 4 I don't listen to all the time but the things I did hear from them was enough to seal the deal on them being amazing. 1. David Gilmour 2. Adrian Smith 3. Tony Iommi 4. Jake. E. Lee 5. Dave Murray

    Your Maiden blasphemy

The entire TFF album is crap to a degree. With the exception of El Dorado and When the Wild Wind Blows (which I have found a new appreciation for after seeing the live rendition from En Vivo). I particularly hate Isle of Avalon because of how the song turns out after the cool ambient intro. I...

    Misheard lyrics

Haha nice, I hear it like this myself: "Ancient Mariner, and souped up treasures he found."

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I'm so glad you recognize it's genius (wink). This song is bonecrushing, raw and hard. It's the rawest and most powerful song Maiden has made. I will not say much more about it except that the fusion between heavy metal and Arabic/Egyptian melodies resonate extremely well with me.

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I have a hard time deciding if you are mocking me or not.

    Your Maiden blasphemy

    Yes, that one.

    Your Maiden blasphemy

Having read the last few pages of the thread, here is an unpopular Maiden opinion for you: The Nomad is my most favorite Maiden song. It beats out Alexander, Seventh Son, Hallowed, Fear of the Dark and everything else for me. Absolute favorite track.

Gear used and instrument sound on TBOS

This is great info man. I did notice changes in Adrian's and Dave's tones.

The Book of Souls Album Cover...

Yes that tiny one. It took me a while to appreciate it but when I look at it I see Eddie. That arrogant smirk, he radiates a personality. As if he is the only one actually alive inbetween the soldiers who are merely skeletons. You are right, Eddie is in a shade, I didn't see it correctly...

The Book of Souls Album Cover...

I would have preferred if the cover of the 'book' inside the deluxe edition have been the official cover. This one: Imagine the words 'Iron Maiden' at the top with the same faded out 'old' style in orange at the top. Would look so good. Or as an alternate option even the picture on the...

Iron Maiden songs that you flat out dislike?

I consider the hate on Angel and the Gambler just a mindless apeing mentality. Someone reads a heavily overblown comment on the song and how the chorus is repeated 40 million times and they pick up on that and repeat the mantra. They love how they are aware of that the chorus is repeated a lot...

    Maiden's attitude towards new releases

I think it's the melancholic melodies in the beginning and in the middle that do it for me. Plus that awesome outro. I hesitated on calling it a masterpiece while I wrote it as well but that was the first word that came to my mind. I realize I may be overstating it.

    Janick's role in post-reunion Maiden

He obviously doesn't get it wrong 100% of the time but far too often he is.
