I ran into this exact thing in 2003.
When Maiden toured with Dio and Motorhead.
I had 3rd row on the floor for that show, and the side I was on was a sea of Dio fans. After Dio played, they were pretty much dead space. All through the Maiden set, they just stood there watching. Not getting into...
Similar, except I never warmed up to Soundgarden, do now enjoy STP. And to this day I still don't understand the love for Nirvana.
Unlike you though, I did enjoy the numetal.
I thought it brought back the fun, and the energy that had been missing since the early days of 'hair metal' before it...
BNW followed closely by DOD with TBOS rounding out my top 3.
The other two are 'meh' for me. There are some good songs on both but none are memorable for me.
And I never have the urge to put either in the CD player.
BNW has it all. Lots of great songs, one of their most solid releases to date...
Nope.
Still not a Blaze fan, and don't regret not seeing him.
I was such a non-fan, that for a long time, it was the thinnest portion of my bootleg collection.
I just wouldn't actually trade for Blaze shows unless it was something rare that I could turn into trades with some of the bigger...
Me too!
I found the Dynamo 2000 show, and I was hooked!
That was what started me down the path of possessing around 2500 Maiden bootlegs at the moment.
[qiote]Blaze live wasn't that great but the music was way, way better than on the album. I think many people realized that Maiden live is...
For me, it wasn't just the Blaze era. That was kind of the last straw, but for me, personally Maiden had lost a lot of my interest for all of the 90's.
I discovered Maiden in 1982, when I was 15.
I loved them. They were my favorite band. I bought tons of magazines just for stories and pictures...
Killers. LAD, SIASL, Trooper,
Those are the iconic ones for me.
As far as more recent stuff, what I love hasn't been on any covers, just shirts.
The nordic Eddies have been awesome.
Those are the only 10s.
Except they have to play those classics to keep the casual fans happy.
You know, the ones that haven't listened to Maiden since the 80's and just go to see them because they remember they liked those songs.
So they have to keep a selection of the 'hits' in the mix.
666, RTTH, WY, 23:58, Trooper...
Sorry, since the one on the official BB went away, I don't really know many that still snail mail trade.
Most people download from Dimeadozen, the Iron Maiden hub, or set up online file transfers at various sites.
According to Neophasmah's website there are 3 versions of this show

Looks to me like they are all from the same source. A lot of the older shows have slight variations due to tape trading.
Different tape recorders would record at slightly different...
That makes sense.
I would have loved to have voted for Still Life and Flight if Icarus.
Instead I voted
Dream of Mirrors (my favorite tune from the reunion era)
Paschendale
Journeyman (which I never got to see due to the idiot that threw a beer on the soundboard)
BYDTTS
I've got the complete list of the releases on this page of my site

They are definitely pleasing to listen to.
I would recommend
1986-12-18 Naples over 1986-12-16 Milano. Has much better sound and energy.
Fallen Angel was swapped in a few early shows in place of Mercenary
2000-06-06 Banska
2000-06-07 Budapest
2000-06-09 Izola
2000-06-13 Saint Etienne
Then it was added to the setlist that still included The Mercenary (and OOSP)
2001-01-06 London
2001-01-07 London
2001-01-09 Mexico City
2001-01-13...
