The Millennium setlist

a setlist with only tunes from 2000-2015

If Eternity Should Fail
The Final Frontier
Out of the Shadows
Dance of Death
Ghost of the Navigator
The Red and the Black
Journeyman
The Longest Day
Starblind
The Book of Souls
The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
Paschendale
The Great Unknown
The Wicker Man
------------------
Blood Brothers
El Dorado

I'll remind people that it's probably best to discuss options and maybe point out why particular songs are going to make it - and some aren't. I'd love to see the above set - but it's hardly a realistic setlist, look at how long it would be!

I feel such a set wouldn't flow very well. Way too heavy on the epics. While IESF is a great opener in other circumstances, I would actually go with a more energetic uptempo tune to start things out. Wicker Man + El Dorado would be my vote for a 00's 1-2 punch. For a third song you want the reunion era's version of Wrathchild, maybe Speed of Light or Death or Glory? Then you can hit them with some epics.

Journeyman is pure encore material. Doesn't work anywhere else IMO. Blood Brothers has also proven to work out well as an encore tune. If this is truly 00's only, then the 00's version of Run To the Hills has to close the show: Out Of the Silent Planet.

This has been done and is also discussed as part of the first leg of The Final Frontier World Tour! It is the same discussion, only now we got BOF to choose from. I wouldnt pick any songs from it anyway so my answer is the 2010 setlist! :)

I always like to take a realistic crack at these setlist threads.

Since the US was skipped over when they did the The Final Frontier 2011 tour, I may be a bit biased with it being more Final Frontier heavy than the other albums... I also may exclude Book of Souls since they would have just done two years worth of touring for it.

I think that this would be a pretty balanced, and mostly realistic setlist, with 3 songs from each reunion album + iron maiden. As Mosh said, The Wicker Man and El Dorado would be a great 1-2 punch to start things off. I also think that Different World would be a great closer, similar to Wasted Years in that it's fast and happy sounding with a singalong chorus.

Man, I love the 2000+ era, but I really do not see Iron Maiden playing a set with 0 classics. The average Maiden set now is what, 17 songs, just under 2 hrs? If three of those are classics + Iron Maiden, that leaves 13 songs from 5 albums. 2-3 songs per album. I think you're likely to get three hard, fast songs in a row, followed by something a little slower, but not too slow - then an epic.

Since Maiden don't like long set lists & considering the length of songs, id do it like this:

Wicker Man
Different World
Final Frontier
Book of
Ghost
Thin Line
Book of Souls
Coming Home
Longest Day

If eternity
Out of the shadows
Love & hate

Is it just me or do you have The Thin Line Between Love and Hate in there twice?
