Oh, absolutely. Some songs like The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner, Back In The Village or Don't Look To The Eyes Of A Stranger were only played one or two times before being dropped. Other songs were played on one leg of a tour and the dropped.

Quite a few things happening at the moment.
Mitch McConnell is apparently brain dead but being kept on life support until early August to avoid a special election.
Graham Platner finally decided to drop out after raising a million red flags. When you thought you heard everything about the...
The choice of song is still random and arbitrary, the explanation above does not touch upon why that song was used. There are plenty of songs that appeared on specific legs and didn't make the live release of their album tour. TOTC is not unique in that regard. The subject matter isn't touched...
I've looked at it before, but that's a common statistic for most albums. FOTD is a bit of an outlier with only 5 songs being played live. TFF is rather low with only 50% being played live. The rest is closer to 70-80% of an album played live. For the 8 song albums that had 7 songs played live...

The band was incredibly rejuvenated by his addition and firing from all cylinders. Dave is on fire, Steve and Janick back to their old...
Well, according to various comments on the internet:
- He's too fast
- He's too slow
- He drags the songs instead of keeping up with Steve
- He hits too weak
- He bashes the drums
- He lacks technique
- He lacks dynamics
- He's not Nicko
- He has no groove
- He's a pub drummer
Take your pick.
