Your Ideal Setlist (using only one song per album)

clap hands
There's a lot of "this would be my dream setlist" threads around, I'm sure, but what if you HAD to pick ONLY ONE song from each album?

Let's say Maiden is doing a retrospective tour. They are going to play 16 songs, 1 song from each album.

- They MUST play ONE song from each album, no skipping albums. Since we haven't heard Book of Souls yet, feel free to leave that off and update later.
- This doesn't have to be a "play all these deep cuts that you've never played live before" list. Feel free to include some standard classics if those are the ones you really want to hear.
- Think of both your favorite and how these songs would work in a live setting.
- Set length doesn't matter. If all you want are epics, then by all means, make an epic setlist!

My setlist would be:

01. Phantom of the Opera
02. Murders in the Rue Morgue
03. Hallowed Be Thy Name
04. Revelations
05. Powerslave
06. Stranger in a Strange Land
07. Infinite Dreams
08. Mother Russia
09. Fear of the Dark
10. Sign of the Cross
11. Futureal
12. The Thin Line Between Love and Hate
13. Rainmaker
14. These Colours Don't Run
15. When the Wild Wind Blows
16. lalalalala something from BOS

Reorder them to your heart's content, but keep the numbers the same. Ya know, for sanity. :D

Your ideal setlist. 3 Least favorite songs from your 5 favorite albums... No? Ok.

In all seriousness though.

1. Sign of the Cross
2. The Fugitive
3. Phantom of the Opera
4. Still Life
5. Dance of Death
6. Infinite Dreams
7. Killers
8. The Talisman
9. Fates Warning
10. For the Greater Good of God
11. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
12. Clansman
13. The Nomad
14. Alexander the Great
15. Hallowed be Thy Name
-----
16. Empire of the Clouds

A chronological order setlist... except the first three album at the end, in reverse order for the encore.

04. Where Eagles Dare
05. 2 Minutes To Midnight
06. Stranger in a Strange Land
07. Infinite Dreams
08. Holy Smoke
09. Be Quick or Be Dead
10. Sign of the Cross
11. The Clansman
12. The Wicker Man
13. Paschendale
14. Brighter Than a Thousand Suns
15. Coming Home
16. Empire of the Clouds
--------------------
03. Hallowed Be Thy Name
02. Drifter
01. Sanctuary

Edit: intended to be somewhat realistic, aside from the fact that we already know Bruce nixed Infinite Dreams previously, and they'll never skip Iron Maiden at the end of the regular set. Every song here has been played live (remember, Maiden doesn't bring back song that didn't get played on the original tour, ever). Many were singles, so the set won't be too long and should get a generally good reaction.

Honestly, if they ever did a tour like this, I think your setlist might be a pretty good prediction!

Yea that one is the most realistic so far, except I doubt they'll ever even attempt Paschendale or BTATS again.

7) The Angel And The Gambler (extended chorus lasting 18-20 minutes.. Jk lol) (11)
8) Where Eagles Dare (4)
9) Mother Russia (8)
10) Strange World (guest vocalist- Paul Di'Anno. I'm not sure if Bruce would sound good on this lol maybe Adrian?!) (1)

12) Afraid To Shoot Strangers (9)
13) Drifter (2)
14) The Legacy (14)
15) Hallowed Be The Name (3)
I would die if Maiden opened up with Caught Somewhere In Time > Infinite Dreams.

Yep. They'll never touch Blaze era again unfortunately. Didn't mention those though because it's under the premise of them playing a song from every album and those would be most likely I think. Or at least one or the other.

Unless they went the Judas Priest route when they said they'd play something from every album and then still completely ignored the Ripper albums. Something I hope Maiden would never do if they were to do a tour like this.
